@@WhiteGuysWRX I actually used rubber they sell on truck stop for organizing load straps as temporary solution. But before I figured out what was wrong had to drive 2 days and use brakes a lot on the hills so wore out brake shoes need to replace them pretty soon.
If you have a VanGuard Mack dealer around you start calling now. There is a huge brake shortage going on right now due to steel shortages. Vanguard has always been more affordable vs. dealer. Check for wheel seals while your in there doing shoes. Shoes are not too expensive, drums might get you.
@@WhiteGuysWRX Thank you for info. I haven't done it myself yet but I want to learn how to replace shoes myself. I got Milwaukee impact gun that should loose lug nuts. But I need good video tutorial for that there are not many good ones on RU-vid. If change brake shoes next time shoot video upload I think would be useful for many.
@@johnysilver1853 to be honest, I paid a guy last year to do mine. $200 mobile mechanic took him about 2 hours or less. Steps he told me while I helped were. If your airbags leak, chalk the truck and jack it in 2 spots otherwise truck can roll over on you. You'll want a bucket and a putty knife to clean all the access extra greese. It's going to get dirty I promise. While in there take a flash light an check around the wheel seal for leaks. A bad wheel seal can cause fire or make a pad go bad real quick. For the most part, the shoes were very similar to the shoes on a older pick up truck, we used a sledge hammer and plyers for tools. only difference is chalking the wheels, releasing air brakes, an backing off the slack adjusters all at once on the rear if doing all 4 rear. Possibly soak rear lugs prior in PB blaster. Semi truck lugs are tricky also, just because you think they are tight, check them again. Most shops always use a big 4ft torque bar. I used 4 ugga lugga chuggas an it's been good so far. Lol
Well fuck a duck. The cruise and Jake cutting out has been my problem since I bought the truck and the shop I bought it from couldn’t figure out it was an $8 spring. Lol. What is the exact name for the spring?
Don't believe so, believe brake is controlled by the master slave cylinder on the opposite side under the hood. Says brake fluid on the fill cap I think not 100% sure to be honest. Facebook - Volvo truck Masters group
You can reach inside the wheel wells upfront under the hood and manually open the hood by pushing in the little tab on each driver and passenger side where the cable attaches to that will release the pressure from the line where you can reattach it
