from www.nadiagiorda..., this voodoo lily did not fail to produce a spectacular bloom--complete with the rank, and disagreeable odor for which they are known.
What a fantastic video!! So fascinating, and your reaction to the repulsive smell was totally hilarious! Amazing that something so incredibly beautiful could be so disgustingly foul to smell! :D That being said, if you have any more of these available, I would love to have one!!
I can say with certainty, that I don't feel that this flower smells like rotting flesh of any kind. That's not to say it doesn't smell bad--it does, big time! It is a very pugent, acrid, awful kind of smell I can't liken to anything else. It seems to come on in periodic, pulsing waves. At times there is almost no oder, and I think it is all over; then wham, it's back for another round of fetid, foul fun--toying with the humans hovering over it!
Hello! Someone gave me a voodoo lily yesterday, but it has a very long stalk with large flowers on the end.....it doesn't stand upright, it drapes over the pot! She said that this long, draping stalk will die away. Is it then that the plant you show above grows? I really want to take good care of this beauty - any help will be appreciated!
