Part 19 in the this series where I am building the Voron 2.4 3D printer.
Started the electrical component wiring! In this video I am hooking up all the components that require mains voltages.
WARNING Mains powered devices contain potentially lethal hazards or can become lethal hazards if not correctly handled!

U never grounded ur frame bro. Wtf happened, no update since the wiring was done lol?

Lol…I am still alive :))… the frame gets the grounding from the heated bed since it is in direct contact with it. I didn’t have time to post other videos. I have one almost done with the firmware installation but I am not sure when it will be ready. Sorry about that, I hope to have more time for youtube in the near future.

@@PorcupineOfTheConnoisseur Understandable man. Had my trident kit laying around for a year (ordered in April '22) and just now got around to building it! I'm doing the mains wiring atm, hopefully all goes well lol. Regarding the frame grounding, I spoke to some people in the electronics channel @DC who informed me about the discussion on that topic. Apparently it's pretty much pointless because of the anodization, and would require you to scrape all the connecting parts of the frame to achieve a complete ground. Quoting Dragonkitty "anodizing is basically oxidizing the aluminium, making it an insulator. The breakdown voltage is 900V per mil (0.0254mm), anodizing layers are typically between 13 and 150µm so it's not easily possible to overcome unless you have an overvoltage condition. That's also why you can't use a multimeter, the test current and hence the voltage is way too low to measure anything and an insulation tester would be the absolute minimum to verify everything is connected properly"

@@bravefastrabbit770 interesting stuff, I was wondering myself why the multimeter cannot detect continuity between the frame and the heated bed. Thanks for sharing!
