The Nevermore is a great way to filter ABS Fumes inside your 3d printer. In this video we assemble the trident variant of the Nevermore and install it into our new Voron Trident.
You can view more information and download the parts you need to print your own using the following links.

You want to stay away as far as possible from any heat sources with the Nevermore because heat makes the carbon depleat a lot faster. On a V2 its under the bed because there aren't really any better spots but on a Trident you can place it so much further away, you should use that to maximize the efficiency. If you want to move the air from the bed to circulate it inside of the chamber, using fans would be better than using the Nevermore. Quote: "At the same time, with increasing heat, the VOCs get more heat energy and desorb from the carbon" as well as: "Anything above 50C is generally not good for bad stuff to stay attached to the carbon. And while the micro has been shown to work even at 80C intake air under a heated bed, it most definitely decreases the time between carbon changes a lot!"

Loads of videos of people fumbling with nevermore install videos lol, Idk why they don’t edit the video to show the procedure instead of all their errors and put text over it. Thanks for the *actual* video guide! You’re awesome.

@@MapleLeafMakers I followed your pcb idea and also added extra heat shrink to firm up the connections and a 2-pin JST socket into the nevermore, since it’s designed for kind it seems. 😊 Then did a little sanding so the plug could push in ok, and wedged the PCB in from inside to stabilise the socket. You can solder it and then slide it in if you use the right row of pcb holes and the jst orientation shown: i.imgur.com/KWm90ad.jpg

I have been looking for a place to put the filter, thanks

Heads up. The LDO kit includes a wire for the Filter Fan but it is not long enough to run down the Z chain. You will have to extend it.

found this out myself lol. had mine built for a few months now, mainly printing ABS and ASA, so i figured i should print and put the nevermore v5 duo on... ended up extending it with some 24g speaker wire and some solder, ran an extra wire too encase in the future i for some reason will need it for a mod or something! Great tip though, wish i knew sooner so i could've been a little more prepared

I wish I had 3 hands as you seem to. I didn't realize nevermore was so small. I've got nevermore parts on the way for my v0 and v2. Probably pretty similar I would imagine.

It sure does come in handy for filming things on the correct angles! Nevermore's are must have if you are printing ABS. They work so good.

When soldering the wires to the pcb, is the correct configuration to have all 3 reds on one side, and all 3 blacks on the other?
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Год назад
I believe so yes. It's basically just a bridge for all the wires!

Which stl do we use for the cartridge for mounting under the bed?
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Год назад
You want to use the ones in the 1.8 Folder: github.com/nevermore3d/Nevermore_Micro/tree/master/V5_Duo/1.8 (V1.8 was the predecessor to the Trident)

@@MapleLeafMakers thank you I was confused by this

if that LDO PCB were a few mm longer in each direction, one could solder JSTs to it.
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers 10 месяцев назад
but then you'd have to crimp the JSTs... that sounds like a lot of work for something you're never going to need to undo.

I just wonder how the magnets are able to hold 300gr of carbon, mine certainly won't.. thinking about printing an ugly but functional support beneath the cartridge.. i'm pretty confident it will fall at some point.
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Год назад
Hmm, I wonder why your magnets won't hold the cartridge. We have several of these running on all of our printers right now and have never experienced any issue with magnet failure / cartridge falling off.

He says 30g in the video. 300g is most of a bag.

Mounting directly under the bed does not seem like a good idea at all. Another comment already mentioned depleting carbon efficiency at increasing temps, plus a lot of cheap blower fans don’t like high temps.
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Год назад
nearly every 2.4 with a nevermore has it installed directly under the bed, It may not be ideal for carbon efficiency, but it's a good balance between filtering and 'bed-fans' functionality without needing both separately. We have several machines running this way and have never had an issue with fans dying. If you're worried about it, feel free to install yours on the side of the chamber, but this is how we do it, and it works well for us.
