There already is a "symmetric" BFI variant in the usermods folder, as of writing make sure to check issue number 20 which explains a few minor issues with those files.

Enjoyed the video and most would not catch the none symetrical issue with the beefys until they started putting them on their printers but I have a feeling you will end up with the FROG mod idlers...

HA HA HA, that beefy idlers bearing stack kicked your butt. Made me laugh but your def. right, we don't have small enough fingers. As always, great information when choosing which front idlers one would want to go with.

I had another source - but I'm interested , not seeing one in here.. what user? The mods I find are not complete - either having less travel or other issues...

I'm trying to decide what to go with for my 2.4 and I think I'll go with BFI. I enjoy the quality of your videos and the camera angles. If I might add a suggestion: Video chapters / timestamps would be a great addition. In this case I was mostly interested in the BFI. I like that you present the options and state your choice but don't present it as "correct".

There are many options becuase there are many variables. I used to add chapters to come of my longer videos, but I have found them of limited use in sub one hour videos. I'll consider it, you're the first person to ever mention chapters!

Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make the BFI symmetrical and also add a beauty ring like the RAMA's. Not only are the BFI much stronger but it sure looked like they have twice the travel for adjustment. I'm running the BFI on my Micron. I chewed up a belt because I tried to tension them like you said. In reality you need to get your belt tension close - then run the gantry back and fourth while adjusting the screw until your belt rides in the middle of the pulley.

Great vid. After Rama failures cracking and stripping the inserts to keep a tension o went with beefy and haven’t had one issue. Although the two bolts are stronger with m5 and require far less adjustment than rama. Also the two bolt systems allow to keep belt from running up and down the stack. Easiest way was to make a config to run a back and fourth numerous times to get tension set and belt to ride in center of stacks. Works same on rama and beefy. Small adjustments at each screw to maintain center and then adjust for tension

I had to disassemble my not-quite-finished LDO 2.4R2 kit recently due to self-inflicted problems. While I've got it disassembled, I'm switching from Rama to Beefy. In what little time I had the Rama front idlers, I did not have a problem. They worked well.

i was going with the voron idlers first but after watching this video i think i will go with the beefy front idlers , now i need to source some 5x18mm pins first. regarding symmetrical nature when compared to rama , i prefer function over looks so its a simple straight forward choice. thanks for sharing this.

They are super simple, well engineered. As for the pins, if you're in the US Kris at KB3D can get those for you.

My goal is to do everything a close to BOM as possible, however there are some parts I think everyone should explore. It should get interesting during the electronics portion! Wish me luck!!!
