Its really tiresome how necro has to scrounge for corpses for ammo. The new offhand is more miss than hit. I tried it, and hate the inconsistency of it. I can't be bothered. No other class needs to create it's own ammo before it can effectively attack. Realistically, Necro has to make or scrounge corpses before it can do any real damage. Plus summons - which are slow. It's really very old at this point. I am amazed how Sader gets ONE SUMMONS essence, and it's better than all necro summons put together and is actually accurate, fast and useful in pvp. Meanwhile, the actual summons class of Necro has slow to spawn, stupid, inaccurate, low health summons that suck in pvp especially, but also in pve. I really think whoever is designing necro essences/skills either got dropped on their head as a baby or filled their head with mud. Either way, 2 years of this stupidity, and they still cannot design effective skills and essences. And don't even get me started about how corpse lance has to be spammed - it's the most spammy skill in DI. JUST GIVE NECROS A CORPSE LANCE ESSENCE AKIN TO WIZ RIFT CARVER ALREADY - push a button and it's active for 8 seconds AND there's no need to jump through flaming hoops to generate corpses. The corpse generation idea sucks, already. It sucked 2 years ago, just to be clear. Now it's tiresome and still sucks. Imagine if a Wiz or a Barb or a Sader had to scrounge around for ammo, instead of just using their WW, Falling Sword or Arcane Torrent? It would be a joke - you know, just like necro. Yet somehow, Necros are supposed to take this brain fart idea seriously and be competitive. Pretty much the new Grim Scythe main hand essence is THE FIRST viable and useful essence for that skill in 2 years. You know, what has essentially been a melee skill on a ranged class till date. Attaboy, BlizzEase. Only took you 2 years to give necros one useful essence for Grim Scythe. 😂😂😂😂

Funny is Summon from other Classes works better than Necro in PVP. Necro was main and I gave up.

I've farmed all new essences already and the new armor is way good than it might look like. It increases the damage dealt and reduces damage taken by 20% + 5% per corpse consumption, up to 2 corpses wich makes it 30% bonuses. Totally worth replacing flickering warmth by it once the lance vortex+spining scythe covers a good area and deals enough damage, especially with chest and shoulders buff. But IMO the shoulder doesn't make THAT difference, being replaceble by any other, just like the pants. The combination that works the best for me is the dark curse that generate corpses + shoulders that increases durarion of curse OR the one that increases speed with bone armor. For the head, I like more some that buffs lance or scythe too.

As a fan of VK's channel, I want to offer some constructive criticism. I found this video very confusing. Instead of going through the essences in order, starting with helm, VK bounces back and forth discussing many essences but not always making it clear which ones he went with in the end. I've watched the video a few times and I'm still not certain I have set up the build correctly.

not good, normal corps lance with auto target + standard dot helm is way better and faster for open world farming/tower. All of the new skills are just meh and poor skill designed for necros. The advantage of the flickering warm born armor essence if that you can have the perma speed up all the time with the shoulder and just this make this combo better than any other combo.

This video is confusing as hell. None of the essences were named and glossed over. Anyone know of any other content creators that actually show the build and the essences used?

I just changed back to Necro from Wizard, and I was wondering the same thing, how much less effort it takes to do Over World farming as a Wizard than it is with a Necromancer. I wish Blizzard would reward us with more damage for all the greater effort it takes to speed farm as Necro. Blizzard, give us more damage please!

can you make an update of the necromancer builds?

I have all the essenses, and have tried to use all of them like so. It's very satisfying for the visual but it has critical problems that made me switch back to summons and armour set with speed. Some of the problem was the damage done was low. These sets doesn't create enough corpses in time. The main problem is when you meet a boss without or little minions. No corpses are available and you then tend to depend solely on your primary attack on the boss and will take ages to kill them. (Btw thank you for your great content. Keep sharing them. Salute.)

Very solid build. I've been experimenting with something similar for dungeon and farm and what you've come up with is very synergistic.

How about Frigid Repose for armor? It can fill the circumferencial gap for damage while chilling enemies.

Once you get the crit dmg shoulders Use the chest piece that generates corpses during wraith and your corpse issue is no longer.

I already own all new necro essence and use this build for farming and terror rift and this is very useful, main idea to generate additional corpse is by using head that generate corpse by 10% when corpse lance hit. With this u Will have infinity corpse lance spinning around u. For corpse lance, use the skill again while u still have corpse lance spinning around u, it will increase corpse lance spin rotation about twice

there is a shoulder essence that increses movement by 30% while bone armor is active and instead of wraith u can use dark curse pats with mist corpse generator

yes! this build is super! i throw away my golem for this and change my charm to accomodate this build! hahaha losing plats... but its worth it! did not use bone armor for this.. instead gallooswoon... makes corpses along with wraith. i did not compensate for damage in helm medic sheath.

This build is not that good. The only good thing about this build is, there is no delay in activation. What i use is, the same corpse lance and grim scythe essence, dark curse that move with you, and wraith form just in case u need more mobility. Greens, 4pc banquet, 2 vithu, 2 issatar. Must have gems to do the killing faster, vipers bite and everlasting torment.

I like the Lower Creed shield better for farming. I was having to tap way too much with Departed Appetite. I use it in combination with the Fulsome Feeding pants that generate corpses for me.

Yeah i also use the new wraith form pants as it can be kept 100% uptime and always gives 50% movement speed.

Will the new e-essence on armor with automatic absorption of corpses launch a corpse spear at nearby monsters or do you need to press it manually?

hello VK! I stuck with the Gravehawk instead of the grim scythe essence buff for the head piece, since grim scythe downtime is a lot compare to the corpse vortex's uptime. The Gravehawk actually is the perfect match for the Vortex, and not other corpse skill essence because of the buff of increased 30% vortex damage after 2 secs of consecutive hits to a target. The vortex lance hits more faster than the flying lances, it's almost comparable to a laser skill. So enemies inside your storm melts like butter. Easily drains mobs in openworld, elder rifts, and accursed towers. My armor pieces to complement are None Elude for higher crit chance, miasma pants for corpse generation and for shoulders you can go with either the Cusp for a big boost to crit damage or the essence which provides movement speed depending on what you like.

This is not a good build tbh. Grim scythe still has lower aoe area than dark curse with miasma essence, which also produces corpse for corpse lance to be always full. And this, with +crit and +time for dark curse and +explosions from corpse lance make it the best build by far. You can than put bone armor for +movement speed and protection, or a new perpetual golem for more dmg (15% dmg essence, and it as a default has aoe dmg +slowdown and melee dmg). Wraith form without any essence, just for faster passages. Put 2 pcs Isaatar and you have the fastest running necro, dealing insane AoE dmg, where monsters melt without the need of ever stopping ever.
