Imo, this.. is a big improvement for F2P.. give us " HOPE " to keep on playing this game. However, it would be much better if they can increase drop rate of 1-2 star gems from Elder Rift.. 🙃

@bigjourie4167 I think eventually they have to do something. There are a lot of complaints about 5s randomness. It's not even a case whether you are a spender or free to play. Getting right 5s copy is close to impossible now, so the current system and drop rates successfully prevents spenders from spend. And with every new 5 s gem introduced it's getting worse.
I would just like to say how much I appreciate your videos clearly you put a ton of time into these amazing videos. You're extremely analytical with your videos and someone like myself truly enjoys it. I find a ton of value out of watch your videos.
Hi vk, I’ve been watching your videos and subscribed to your channel for a long time. You have some great guides. One of my favorites is your visual overlays and explanations in your vortex essence video. However, I think you are sometimes prone to making over dramatic conclusions by focusing too narrowly on one factor. One example is when you concluded that dots were bad at the end of an otherwise excellent video on how potency and resistance work, not taking into account any build synergies that can make dots OP in certain content (especially farming and PvP). Another is when you decided you should destroy your mother’s lament (still one of the top dps gems) because it wasn’t extended by beneficial effects duration and there were other sources of crit chance. (Though some of these other sources, like 4 gloom and 4 banquet, have diminishing returns and don’t offer a flat bonus like mother’s lament and roiling consequence do. And there are plenty of other good dps sets, like vithus and grace.) Again in this video, you latch onto one factor (awakenings), disregarding your previous emphasis on how the effects of certain gems were much stronger than the effects of others. For the vast majority of players, the gem effects are still the most important consideration, and resonance is (realistically) the least important, unless you’re an 8k+ whale who can brute force your way to top performance by spending obscene amounts of money instead of properly optimizing your build. Auroth made an ultimate dps guide which is still wonderful, but too long for most. However, he has now started a f2p series, beginning with the damage formula he explained in his original guide, updated and explained much more concisely. I highly recommend that any RU-vidr or serious optimizer watch it, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. Personally, I have gone the opposite direction: I got my 5k wings long ago using all 5 stars, and I now run a more ideal mix with select 1 and 2 stars at 3.8k reso, and my performance has steadily climbed even as my reso has gone down. This is in part due to picking the right gems for my budget and builds and awakening all slots, and in part due to paying attention to all the details on gear, reforges, and other optimization details that 99% of players ignore. Despite my above critique, you remain one of my favorite RU-vidrs, and I always look forward to your videos. Cheers!
Bsj, rolling consequence, bottled hope, maw of the deep since CC lacking, gloom cask won't be bad choice because of primary attacks and 4pcs Vithu's bonus. Optional picks are bile for extra dot, void spark for spreading mechanics, frozen heart might be good for new essences.
I had some 5* gems in my stash but none were above rank six, I was using four rank 10 x 1* and four rank 10 x 2* with all 8 slots awakened. I just moved the 1* gems out and replaced them with my 5* this was an absolute win for me your results may vary. Now those 1* gems will be used to rank up my rank 4 BSJ to rank 5. I have a RC sitting in my stash that will also be ranked up over the coming year until it can go in an awakened slot replacing a 2*. My build will look like this by the end of the week. 3* rank 5 Blood Jade 4* rank 6 Hellfire Frag 3* rank 6 Frozen Heart 4* rank 6 Bottled Hope 2* rank 10 Igneous Scorn 2* rank 10 Pain Clasp 2* rank 10 Vipers Bite 2* rank 10 Mothers Lament The BSJ is currently rank four and I have two duplicates and almost enough pearls to make the other dupes.
To get a small additional resonance bonuses. you needed 5 max legendary gem 2 star and 3 5 star at maximum tank 10, and thag is only for your 1 awaken gear. You have 8 gear
@@lovelytruth953the benefit isn’t in the resonance you get from awakening the gear, but the bonus that gets u locked when you do slot the extra gems. That’s where the benefit comes from.
VK, may i ask what reforges are you currently using because I see you have 3 purple floating orbs. I only have 2 orbs but im just using mostly 4x wildfire and 1x beneficial effects
Once trying to get from rank 4 to rank 5 on 5* gems is ridiculous. 2 of the same gems both ranked 3. It’s insanely expensive. The only rank 5 I have is a 5/5* seeping bile.
Something interesting has happened to me. I had a 5 star zwensons which I no longer use and have used it's gem pwder(long ago) and I have a 4star Starfield which I replaced witha 9 star Ingeneous scorn for the awakening. I have not consumed the Starfield. Both of these gem UNEQUIPPED are still working. Does anyone know an explanation for this?
I hear what you’re saying about not upgrading 2/5, but it’s super affordable to get started on 5 star gems at the 3/5 level. The total difference between a 3/5 and 4/5 is only 40 res per gem, and you can make that upgrade after rank 5 when incremental upgrades become available to you. My strategy thus far is to have all of my 5 star gems be a 4/5 or better by the time I hit rank 6, and thus far it’s been an enjoyable and achievable grind as a very low spender
This is bad advice. Its better to save for a 5/5 gem than buy a 3/5 or 4/5. Unless they are the same price as a 2/5. 5/5 gems are essentially worth 640 gem power.
@@HeraldofHim when a 5/5 costs 640k vs a 4/5 at 90k and a 3/5 at 40k you start where you can. Having a full set of 8 5/5 at 640k apiece would cost you 5.1 million platinum and that’s only to have them at rank 1. I’ve been playing for 2 years and only sold 4.2 million worth of platinum. I’d rather have 4/5 at reasonable levels to play with now and worry about hitting all 5/5 before I cap them at rank 10 than wait 2-3 years just to have a perfect start. To each their own. My comment was regarding holding out for a 4/5 and not bothering to get started powering up a 3/5 as it was presented at the time it was mentioned as a video. The difference between those two is negligible. Obviously a 5/5 is preferable, but that’ll take lottery winner luck to hit as a low spender, let’s be honest here
Yeah, but to be precise I said in the video that if you already have many copies of one 5s and actually what stops you from upgrade is lack of good base then buying 3/5 base might be considered. However, I do not recommend pushing 3/5 if you don't have additional copies yet. I would rather stick to 2s and wait for more copies of 5s or good base.
@@shacktrocitygaming4383 you are right. I totally agree with u. forget about being the perfectionist of only settling for 5/5 quality gems. the progressive upgrade at rank 5 also allows you to change the 5* gem quality later on in the game, should you manage to obtain a quality 4 or 5 gem.
The gem resonance needed 5 max legendary gem and you needed 8 of this for all of hoir awaken gear first you needed max 2 star gem foe additional 20 resonance foe your character and then you needed max 5 star gem and so on.
If you want to switch classes frequently , These are the gems you should be getting . Even from the beginning ... 1-star 1. Berserkers Eye 2.Everlasting Torment 3.Blessed Pebble 2-star 1.Fervant Fang 2.Mothers Lament 3.Pain Clasp 4.Vipers Bite 5. Grim Rythm 5-star 1. Blood Soaked Jade 2. Bottled Hope 3. Rolling Consequence If you use any other gems than the ones on this list [Besides 5 Stars] You will find that you will be investing in and replacing gems frequently . Stick to this list and you are good for all classes .. So feel free to class change at anytime ..
This is why I still use 1 and 2* gems, it’s more fun to make a build for any class, than stick to all 5*, of which there is a only a few with good effects
Thank you for this review 😊 Being a dolphin I personally settled with: Mother's Lament lvl 10 Pain Clasp lvl 10 Viper's Bite lvl 10 Fervert Fang lvl 10 Grim Rhythm to be lvl 10 this week Bloody Soaked Jade lvl 5 Roiling Consequences lvl 5 Bottled Hope lvl 5 And at the moment I'm feeling to be done with resonance slowly upgrading 5* gems to lvl 6 5 stars and stocking gem resonance to 30 points. Spending seems to be over sitting in comfortable 3k plateau.
It seems quite similar to my configuration. I picked telluric pearls over FF and GR though. Actually in less than 2h I'm going to upload video about 3's cost efficient. Video should be helpful for people like us.
4/5 or 5/5 is definitely very difficult for f2p or low spenders. Most 3/5 are almost the same price as 2/5 now. On my server, 4/5 are 150-250k plat, compared to 3/5 being 50-64k most of the time, sometimes 70-75k. 5/5 are almost never there. That means you're spending 3x the plat to gain 40 reso at rank 5 per gem. You kinda have to make a choice if you're able to get the plat to buy a 4/5 or 5/5, but knowing each star adds 40 reso per gem it's important in deciding. 4x8 slots adds 320 reso per star you can add across the board. Personally i think it's worth it to really try to save up for 4/5 at least because once you build that rank 5 you'll likely leave it for a long time as a f2p/low spender. But it's all your own personal choice.
That's why 5s strategy for f2p or low spenders has no room for mistakes. And you are right that at the low ranks of 5 s there is no big difference in resonance. However, gap getting wider once you rank them up. At rank 5 you can already use progressive upgrade, so each obtained copy increases your resonance.
So this guide is for f2p/low spenders and 1st advice is to throw away 50% of telluric fragments value by crafting 1* gems instead of buying them from the market and crafting expensive 2* gems instead?
Problem in your strategy is that you never define what “long term” exactly means. 5 months, one year, two years? In my experience of a mostly f2p player, aiming to 5 stars will require more than 2 years of frantic play unless you are extremely lucky. 5 stars are not a viable goal for f2p.
Because long term means something different for each and every individual. So many factors to say specifically when is the right moment. After 2 years I'm 50/50 four 2 stars at rank 10, two 5 star at rank 5 (60%+ to rank 6), two 5 star rank 4. But since the rewards are gradually increasing I do believe that it might be achieved significantly quicker now.

This update raises the FLOOR with a smaller increase to the ceiling. More low spend or no spend people will benefit from this update WAY more than whales. Why? Whales and spenders already had all slots awakened. Now the requirement is lower, giving access to more players. Whales got a huge money requirement to stay on top. F2P and Low spend got stronger
Don't forget about people who had all items awakened for 1 s and 2 s. They are not whales, and essentially, they only lost with this update. I described it in previous video. Check comment section to see how many people it bothers.
I currently working on grinding necromancer and looking for a build for f2p. So which is better, the vortex build (1 month ago)or the primary necromancer build (3 months ago)
For open world farming the vortex build is best also works wonders in random dungeons. I run the vortex build with fullsome feeding pants. Secondary gear 4 peice of issatar and 4 peice of whatever else you want if all you have is 2 peice of issatar that works too increase your move speed a bunch. Makes running around with vortex build so fast.
@@drillab8515isataar a must. I personally run dark curse with the malsmia essence and corpse lance. And skeles. Or if I want to be really fast I run the movement speed and unhindered wraith form essence, with create corpse while in wraith form essence and corpse lance.
Better to sell account now. The community is asking for two slot gem for plus 1000 resonance and better build. DI give us dawning echo and inside you need rank 10 two-star gem for plus 20 resonance.
