Today we shall elucidate the workings of the Astra Militarum regiment: The Vostroyan Firstborn.
Aristocratic in bearing inheriting the weapons and armaments of their fallen kin's , the soldiers of Vostroya are among the most famed and well equipped of all the regiments of the Guard.
Drawn from each first-born son or daughter of the peoples of Vostroya, their families shall tirelessly work within their factorums and smelteries to bolster their sired chosen in their quest to absolve their past sin...

While not so widely known or fearfully respected as their brother regiments from Krieg, the Vostroyans hold one thing over their grim compatriots that makes them far more desirable as partners to fight alongside in the trenches and the bloody streets of a warzone; the spark which is the soul of humanity: Hope. Somber and imposing though they may often be, the Vostroyans do not fight merely to die for the Emperor and redeem the sins of their forefathers. While these things weigh on them more heavily than most other regiments could fully understand, they also fight for the safety of their homeworld, the pride and honor of their families, and the glory of victories which secure the futures of others. They do not shy from death, but neither do they unfeelingly hurl themselves to it. Where the soldiers of Krieg seem almost hollow shells of humanity to those outside of their culture, the Vostroyan is an example of the uniqueness matched with excellence that each planet of the Imperium could bring to the table. All have something to offer the God-Emperor, and all who fight in His name are brothers and sisters-in-arms in the war against the heretic and the xeno. To stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a Vostroyan is to be reminded of this, and to know that glory is not merely a thing to be preserved of the past, but something that can be striven for and won in the present. GLORY TO THE GOD-EMPEROR, AND TO THE IMPERIUM HIS LIGHT PROTECTS! FORTH, FIRSTBORN OF VOSTROYA! FEAR NEITHER DARKNESS NOR DEATH!

The first 40K book I ever read was one called Rebel Winter. It's about a unit of first born fighting off Orks and Rebels while slowly being whittled down. Great read. This vid did a great job capturing what they're all about!

@@vladimirthegreen6097 Hard to break it to you, but Ukraine has not been invented yet by Lenin when those Kuban cossacks existed. Also most of Kuban is part of Russia, Kuban is also near caucasus Kuban cossacks settled in north western caucasus. Cossacks did not bring any special nationality, they were multi-ethnic, just as the Russian Empire.

My favorite Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum, whatever) Regiment. Steel legion, Attilan Rough Riders, Death Korps, Valhallan, all cool. But Vostroya takes the cake for me.

@@AlphaOmegonCadia *failed* and nothing else matters. The Imperium is split in two because *failures* like the Cadians and Rowboat are allowed to continue. Vostrya fights on. Krieg, Catachan, Attila, Armegegdon, Valhalla, they all stand and fight. Cadia just *failed* everyone

I came here because I took an online personality quiz, "Which Imperial Guard Regiment are you?" and it said I was the Vostroyan Firstborn, but I didn't know anything about them. But now, I must say that I'm proud to be one of these guys.

The Humans of the Astra Militarium in truth are probably the most heroic and noble of all the main factions ... to face the horrors of the 40K universe with just the relatively basic resources at their disposal ... probably depending more on just faith ... hope ... duty/responsibility ... yet still seemingly able to hold the empire together and arguably making gains ...

Trazan actually had a whole regment of Vostroyans, the Vostroyan 21st, frozen in time for hundreds of years in his collection. However he realsed them in the defense of Cadia and tbey apparently all died in a last stand against Black Legion forces.

Cathartic. Meanwhile the real culprits of our nation's druggy death cult get a prorated fine and are going to enjoy the rest of their wealthy, privileged lives.
