Where were these council members when Uber was breaking the local laws and gutting the cab industry? Also, rideshare drivers are NOT public servants ... Uber/lyft is NOT a public utility and if they want to treat us as such then for fucks sake pay us as much!!! $2 and $3 as ride is fucking insulting and main times leaving the drivers on the hook for the cost of these trips! PAY THE DRIVERS!
I’ll bet the cities will not pull out. They pulled the same fear marketing in NYC, Chicago, and Seattle and the cities called over and Lyft’s bluffs and the they never left.
The city of Minneapolis has a solution I sent to all city council members especially since Uber and Lyft drivers are actually paying themselves thru their tax dollars by giving government finances rideshare trips paying Uber, lyft ,brokers etc.
This ordinance doesn't rob old people of independence. Old have been getting around for thousands of years without Uber/Lyft. I used to drive old people around 25 years go in a van for other companies. Gtfo with this bs pretty wording. Uber is probably paying him to say whatever it takes to move their agenda in their favor. Money is everything, not love, not old people, not pretty words but cash. .
The city is preventing new companies from coming in town with their atrocious Tnc license cost. Which is preventing other companies from coming into town and making it a competitive market. They have not assisted and / or fast tracking new companies coming into town. The state/news is making the situation more exacerbating. It's wild.

He makes a great point. No Lyft or Uber in Minneapolis? This will drive down tourism. But lets get real, why would company X put their conference in Minneapolis when there isnt transportation affordably? Personally if I knew I couldnt get a lyft/uber in Minneapolis I would think twice about visiting.
