Personally, I think the government shouldn't be allowed to charge you to participate in a constitutional right whether it be a gun permit or an id required to vote. I have no problem with either requirement, but I think such documents should be: free, you should be compensated for the time it takes to get the document, transportation to get the document should be provided by the government and your employer shouldn't be allowed to fire you for taking time off to get the document. If the government wants to add steps for you to use your constitutional rights, then they need to pay you for the extra inconvenience. I'm willing to support a gun permit and voter ID laws, but ive yet to meet a politician that is willing to have compensation for it on the same bill...until then I'll continue to vote against what i see as big government overreach

@Sup-jz2ow HERE!!! HERE!!! or is it HEAR?? HEAR?? My taxes go to enough bulls**t I don't support any way it can actually go back to the people I'm down. HOWEVER voter ID should be required regardless at this point otherwise what's the point in elections? You have no clue who's voting if it's even US citizens or Illegals must be required either way.

Why not just issue a mandatory state ID and identification number to every person for free through the mail. If that was the case this wouldn’t be a problem. We need to be making it easier to vote higher percentage of people that vote the more democratic we are as a nation, and I think that’s a principle we all can agree on.

Waste of money. Most people have a form of state ID like a driver's license. Including POC's but democrats claim they can't get one. That's why he's pointing out he had no problems getting 6 forms of government ID all from different agencies.

Everyone should have voter id in my opinion. It should be paid for by the state. If you make the people pay for it then it would be a poll tax. Everyone should have id

⁠@@EducatedBrutewe also have only one day to vote and it’s on a Tuesday between 7-7 most people are working during the majority of that time and have other things to be doing. They should turn Election Day into election week and make it as easy as possible for people to vote. The more people that vote the more accurate our elections are and I think that’s something we all want

@bryanreilly4117 don't forget the outsized impact of disability lobbyists on the legislature. The interests of the disabled are overrepresented thanks to hundreds of millions of dollars spent on lobbying already, regardless of their access to polls.

@@pedromoo yes but there are other IDs too. Such as State ID (if you don’t have drivers license.), military ID, these are verifiable ID to confirm citizenship and eligibility.

You failed to mention the Republicans want to make it harder for you to vote, In Alabama they closed down 38 Motor Vehicle Offices in Predominantly Black Neighborhoods making it nearly impossible for people without cars and elderly people to get ID’s which is who theses laws affect most.

I was only able to find a 2015 article that said 31, not 37. The article also said about half were in the "Black Belt". So, only about 15.

Driver license for illegals and if they get money they pay tax and a s.s.i. Number that’s the issue.we’ll see who’s voting.

Illegals can vote in some states on local elections already. If they get jobs the employer is not following through on what he's supposed to do. Check their status through a government agency. If they do get through it's probably under a stolen ID. These are illegal can't have a job or ss number if illegal. Whoevers social security number was stolen going to get screwed over by the IRS. Because they will exempt from paying taxes from payroll for the year. I know of one person with that problem now.

I agree if you don’t have. Government issued identification 🪪 you can’t vote and if you try it should be a felony and no less the ten year prison sentence
