VOWING NOT TO BE INTIMIDATED BY KYAGULANYI GANGS, MPUUGA VOWS TO DEFEAT TYRANY IN NUP

Saying the party is now full of obscurantism, nepotism, corruption, incompetence and extortion, Mathias Mpuuga (who was accompanied by only two NUP MPs namely Joyce Bagala and Abed Bwanika) told reporters at Parliament this Tuesday morning that as the one who founded NUP he has a duty to lead a group of like-minded MPs and other elected leaders to end the Kyagulanyi era which has brought so much shame to National Unity Platform. He also vowed not to quit NUP no matter how much the Party Secretariat will spend investing in so-called foot soldiers to abuse him. He said quitting would be anomalous because NUP is a party he founded as opposed to merely joining.
He castigated the Kyagulanyi clique of abusing the party offices they currently occupy to enable and facilitate "extortion and blackmail." He said he was determined to go on a countrywide tour to explain to Ugandans and especially NUP supporters what exactly has gone wrong in NUP and which specific reforms have to be undertaken for the situation therein to get better as opposed to getting worse.
He also talked about the Diaspora whose generosity and willingness to contribute funding, he said, had been manipulated and abused by current NUP leaders to facilitate self-aggrandisement.
As if to corroborate claims his supporters have been making claiming that for Kyagulanyi, effecting regime change and removing Museveni was no longer a priority, Mpuuga demanded to know why the NUP leadership isn't coming out to vigorously condemn President Museveni's dynastic tendencies and insensitivity manifested in his decision to make his son MK the CDF of UPDF and the pride with which all the EC bosses were reappointed for another term.
He wondered why NUP, whose Principal claims to have been a victim of vote rigging in 2021 by the same EC, didn't organise or mobilise Ugandans to push back against Justice Simon Byabakama's EC reappointment as opposed to making his removal from the Parliamentary Commission a priority.
The party Deputy President vowed to use his position to mobilise the whole country, rescue and reorganise NUP into a party that meets the desires and aspirations of all change-seeking Ugandans who he promised to closely work with as NUP leader once the intra party reforms he envisages are completed.
Should any FDC-like war erupt in NUP (God forbid), the Mpuuga faction will most likely be the one to prevail because they are the ones the Musevenist state might be more comfortable doing business with.
But at the same news conference, Mpuuga also made reference to Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya's letter imploring the Speaker to de-recognise him as the Parliamentary Commissioner representing NUP. Sounding very contemptous of Rubongoya who authored it, Mpuuga said he wasn't prepared to comment on the same because it was addressed to Speaker Anita Among and not him personally. He was only copied and all he said was that the position of the law on how one ceases to be Commissioner is very clear as was clarified by Chris Obore, the Director Communications at Parliament.
