After 6 months of using it I've put together a review of the Vox Amplug 2 Bass Headphone Amplifier.
As well as sharing my thoughts I also play some sound clips to help you hear what it sounds like in headphones.

The only review of this amplifier on RU-vid where they talk about all 3 modes. Thank you very much, because for a long time I could not understand what these modes are for.

Many thanks for your clear advice. It was very helpful in deciding between the Vox and the Blackstar. I watched the other two videos , the one for Blackstar and the comparison. I don't use distortion on bass so prefer the clean sound of the Vox. Great channel.

Thanks for the review. I wanted to see your opinion. Uploaded 3 yrs ago? I just got this as a gift lol. It's a great little dude. So small and convenient. Great for avoiding noise Karens. Remembering the functions n buttons were not a problem but I can see forgetting.

Investing in a Beat buddy mini is a nice gadget to go along with the Vox Bass, if you want more Rhythm tracks. Just plug it in to the Aux, and Rock on.

can you hear the bass for your headphones and at the same time the sound exit from an external amplifier?

Could you drive those headphones with the Amplug? Are 250 Ohms headphones? I am looking to get new headphones for my Amplug and I don't understand if I need something with 40 Ohms or less impedance or if I can connect a 55-70 Ohms set directly to the amplug.

Very good review, I thought this gadged was meh while playing it but turns out I need to change my bass asap because there lies the problem. What bass guitar do you use in the video?

I had an original Vox Amplug and it had horrible delay. So you hear no delay from this at all?

Thanks. Very useful. I’m still trying to understand what headphones this will drive successfully. What headphones did you plug into it? Did you try any that did not work well? Nasty Ear buds, cheapish gaming headphones, consumer HiFi headphones, expensive HFi headphones, studio headphones (32ohms 80ohms 250ohms 600ohms) Ok, I get your not going to go through it all. If you do anything similar again though, please cover some aspect of this. Thanks for the material.

What kind of headphones should I have in order to use the Amplug? I bought the amplug, but on the headphones I have, the low notes crackle and don't play well. What kind of specs should I be looking for in headphones?

I'm playing my 5 string through this into a pair of Sony MDR7506. Cost about $100 and the sound quality is better than I'd expect for that price. The main downside is the cable; it's long, aggressively coiled, heavy. It's not the end of the world, but if I want to use these headphones in other ways than for channeling my practice, I feel like I'm wrangling a very ungainly umbilical cord. Still recommended headphones, just... lettin' ya know.

I bought mine today. Really love it! I'm a noob, but to me the sound is really amazing! Sounds way better than my actual amp. But no matter what settings I try, I can't get rid of the noise :/ Can anyone tell me if that is normal? No reviewer seems to talk about it. Maybe mine is broken? Or could it be my cheap bass or headphones?

Hi, glad you like it which one did you buy? I would try a different pair of headphones see if that helps. But you will always get some noise on the distorted settings, that's normal

@@dasten123 i see what you mean, could it be maybe ur bass? Sometimes it is a defective unit. It might have a bad ground or connection. Im not an audio expert either but i have a ton of speakers, that make that hiss sound, the way i defeat it on some is by having the speaker as low volume as possible, and if i have it connected to a phone the phone will be close to max volume. Also try connecting it to a home theater or stereo, i plan on getting one to use with a pc subwoofer, since its farther away the hiss might be less noticeable

Is the Vox AmPlug and amplifier on its own? Or is it just used to link your bass with a headphone or an amplifier?

@@Leethemetalwarrior it's for both, & if a riff suddenly comes to you, it allows you to record it straight into a laptop or desktop as long as you have it plugged in to either. You can start your own recording sessions immediately. I saw a RU-vid review on it, I was convinced to buy it, I plan to start playing it today.
