thank you! Finally someone else has seen the movie I remembered as a kid! I thought it was rock and roll high school but when I saw that movie I wondered where the mutant octopus was! and why it seemed so much more sedate than I remember. For the longest time I thought I'd just dreamed it up since no one I mentioned it to had any idea what I was talking about.
The one thing I know/remember about this is the song Back On The Street by 3-Speed, who coincidentally also did the theme song for the movie Once Bitten.
In a better movie, that "glare at the guy so hard he slaps himself" is a solid gag. Also GOOD LORD, Diamanda, "It's like a gay porn by someone who didn't know what sex was!" I finally have a way to describe Top Gun!

I've never gotten Pia Zadora's appeal, myself... I think she's a terrible actress, and looks like a poor man's Linda Hamilton (who's marginally attractive, at best)... But a lot of the venom aimed at her in this review felt unwarranted. Did she do something in her personal life, or with her politics that pissed you both off? Will I hate her that much when you tell me?
I think the dislike and loathingbfor Pia Zadora's past efforts is all due to hindsight. Someone actively attempted to make Pia Zadora a star despite some obvious limitations. But we now live in a world where the Kardashians are celebrities for no other reason than because Robert Kardashian was friends with OJ Simpson, and bubble butt (and bubble brain) Kim Kardashian had a sex tape leaked. The Kardashian clan managed to achieve mostly by accident what Pia Zadora tried to achieve by design, fame, stardom and celebrity.
