If you want the same liberties of a man, you should get the same crappy treatment of a man. It's called equality. I was just nine years old when this series started, and I became obsessed with it. My dad hated the show and was quite vocal about it when he saw me sitting on the floor in front of the tv watching it. I remember the first season was shot in black and white, and even as a kid I noticed a decline in the quality of the stories in subsequent seasons. Cheap rubber suited monster of the week plots. But, it was pretty much all there was sci fi wise on tv back in the 60’s. Watching this episode in particular brings back memories, as I remember this one vividly.

Voyage curiously has a unique influence on people. Many of us love it warts and all, many others are friendly. And then there is a sizeable cohort that remain opposed. I think it's something more than monsters. I'd love to know the whole story, maybe we will someday. In the meantime I'm making a study of the series, to try and determine the nature of the Voyage Zeitgeist.

Another question that has me nerding out on it. Some old publicity materials suggest that it has "jet engines" that propel it once it breaks the surface . The original model kit offers something like this, but I've had trouble with how "jet engines" fit in the craft and keep it aloft. I've chatted with "Coast to Coast AM" fans who have suggested that "esoteric flying and underwater phenomenon may be powered by "electromagnetic, counter gravitational"power sources. " Thus the Flying Sub likely wouldn't have to carry jet engines and jet fuel, but instead some "exotic" power source. Again, just a "nerd out speculation..."

Karen Steele also played "Eve McHuron" in the original series "Star Trek" classic episode: "Mudd's Women". Very attractive lady who sadly passed away at aged 56 from cancer in 1988. I loved this show, especially the black and white episodes. There was one station that had these types of shows on every Saturday afternoon. What made each show even more fun was the fact that sometimes our attena wasn't able to click in properly and the picture was somewhat fuzzy, which only made the monsters even more frightening. I purchased the entire set eventually and have watched it several times now. Of course the special effects are really terrible by today's standards and some of the actors are also terrible, but you have to love Richard Basehart and David Heddison for their brilliant performances and obvious rapport.

I remember this a long time ago. Cara was very pretty, she should have been centrefolded in playboy magazine. I was at uni back then trying pot . My aunt looked very much like Cara I had to discipline her for not keeping my room clean. The good old days when boy's were men and women did as they were told and wanted to be in playboy. Heffner would have been very proud of my aunt she wasn't only as attractive as Cara in this episode but stunning as well. I finally did manage to train her to keep my room clean and tidy as well as serve me in many other ways. The good old days around 1967 i think? I miss them.

Another Nerding Out moment for me. Nice Sealab design but sometimes seemingly too small for requirements. A hint of solution turns up in next years Deadly Invasion. The mention of an "airlock" big enough to hold a visiting submarine. Another fan suggested that the station may have more "architecture" that is not shown on the screen. Yes, otherwise, no exit@!

An underwater giant still wearing his now giant sweater?? Silly. Nevertheless, it was entertaining. Thanks for the post
