Endless respect for your channel, I check every video you post. Just on the brink of buying a new car now and use you uploads to learn more about each model I consider. I'm on the fence, should I buy a pre-owned ICE or a new EV...I can get a 2 yr old BMW 745e for the price of a new i4. My concerns are: 1. Given the speedy development of batteries, is there a risk that todays modern EV is stoneage and unsellable in 2 years? 2. If I buy a preowned ICE I get super luxury with a 50% discount to new price, but of course the same goes for this. Does anyone want to buy a 2020 ICE in 2025? Has the government imposed further penalties on ICE....don't know where this comment is going, but a video where you elaborate on different EV's, like your favorite list etc would be cool. And if not, keep doing what you're doing. You are like Freia Melkesjokolade, ingen over - ingen ved siden!

If tech is good today, passes Teslabjorns tests I would say there’s 0 risk that it will devalue fast. Even “crappy” 5 year old EVs are expensive because demand is so high. I would avoid battery rental though, such cars have more flaky pricing. Our 2year old Tesla model 3 just increased around 5k USD in second hand value. If you go ICE, I don’t think it will retain value very well…

Oh and regarding batteries, they do improve continuously but there are no “leaps” that changes the game completely. Even if there was market is production starved so I don’t it would affect 2nd hand value much

Simple. Evs will be in more and more demand, and supply is still limited hence they are not depreciating the same as ICE. So buy a second hand ICE and it will loose another 40% over the next 2-3 years. Buy a new EV for the same price and it will likely loose 10-20% over the same time period. Obviously if there is a massive recession etc then all bets are off, maybe the both reduce by another 10-40%.

Me too :) They claym 530-550km of range but on 13:12 min of video we can see 31% SOC and estimation 111km. That vil bee 358km range and what is that 20% SOC and power cut off? hehe. Bjørn take this car to test soon :)

Wow, just wow, Voyah please bring this to the UK!!!! I hope this is refined and drives as well as it looks. This will teach the German's that being stingy on the spec is the wrong way to go (especially with the recent controversy around the monthly payment for BMW heated seats). They should package everything in there, just allow the user to choose their own colour, wheels and interior colour/materials. Everything else should be the same. I'm sure it would work out cheaper for the manufacturers in the long run rather than having 1000+ different spec configrations.

I have a question about this video, Bjorn. In the showroom you touch the front radar sensor and say it's warm so it's heated. But in the car you turn on the air conditioning because it's hot out that day. Is the car constantly warming the radar sensor even in warm conditions? Isn't that a waste of energy?

This tank is well fitted for kindergarten duty. Night vision to detect marauding toddler on the parking spot which are hiding in the bushes. 21 cm ground clearance help to pass all kind of toys including small bikes. All rounded by a trunk large enough for all kind of lunch boxes of your 2 kids.

this car is excellent on the interior... I love the infrared camera with the big center display in the instrument panel, and I love the horizontal inlaid screens across the dashboard. I also love the physical buttons. Every other BEV maker should try to do this kind of interior, including the electrochromic roof glass! Every automaker should have infrared cameras now, standard.

How do all these Chinese brands want to deal with servicing? I've heard bad things about MG's service in Germany and they still have quite a few garages but there were supply chain issues for parts from China. Edit: Of course EVs have less servicing, but still things break and fluids have to be changed (brake, battery coolant) etc.

What puts me off every 'unknown' brand is the same. Voyah will not have the same service and support network than any established company so the price would need to reflect that and pricing it like a fat e-Tron really isn't going to cut it. No matter how many tech goodies it has, if the car is immobile because of a shortage of parts or service what is it really 'worth'?

Impressive and arguably frightening given how much asian models are pushing into the european market right now. There are quite attractive models, which also have their weaknesses, but like here, all plastic parts are match to the seat colors, you don't even get that from some local premium manufacturers, even if they cost 50% more.

Congrats for bringing this car review. Hopefully the chinese will keep this approach to offer all options standard în the future too, not only until they win against germans & all. Indeed already is smelling what we see at german cars and not only which charge a lot for options which must be included because it is about the safety driving. How to put as an option something which is for customer safety ? The car is a thing to be used on roads and consequently it must assure the safety of the people. The people must punish those producers which put high prices only because of the name. For example I have a Porsche Macan but I bought a GV70 and thinking to replace Macan with another GV70 because it is such a great difference. Probably the market will show to those expensive companies or to build really extraordinary cars or to align with others .

I find is somehat odd that the Chinese companies are bringing mostly SUVs to the European market. These would sell better in the US, but they aren't in that market (yet). Why not smaller ID3 type cars? Profit margins?

ID3 type cars are not selling very well in China that is main reason. Having said that, there are many car maker in China make these type of cars but not launch in the EU like Aion Y, Zeekr

@@skyemalcolm Yes, not so much wondering about US sales but those in Europe. Seems a mismatch in product versus demand. Without the tariffs these would sell like hotcakes in the US. In Europe, I'm not so sure.

European is far more advanced in terms of EV market, it's nature to be prioritized by the Chinese brands over the US market.

Looking at their website, a lot was included as you say. But a 4year/60.000km service plan costs 34.800nok (€3400). Thats just insane!

Don't get it. It includes wear and tear parts like brakes or other stuff that is usually not covered in a regular service plan. But they're working on a cheaper service plan

@@bjornnyland "other stuff" is windshield wipers, according to their website. Still sounds like a rip off. Good luck wearing out your brakes on an EV in 4y/60k, unless they rust. But you are right, no one is forcing it on you.

Performance mode lowers the dash inside the car. Overkill by the Chinese. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it should.

Really big, but I saw that the weight is 2330 kg and the max. weight 2705kg. So all passengers and luggage may only have 375kg. That’s a problem…

@@bluej511 It's a giant SUV though... Should be capable of hauling 5-7 passengers + a bunch of stuff. What if you want to go camping and need to haul water there or whatever? Most large SUV's have 1000KG+ of usable load.

If I end up buying the audi a6 avant, I won’t do it because of the logo, but because I decide it’s the best ev estate I can get at a reasonable price with enough range(probably still expensive as fuck). To me german cars are not premium more than their looks, noice level and maybe feels, because they break all the time with expensive repairs and low warranty. I’ve had a golf now for 5 years, which is declared to be one of the better ones(mk 7), but still, I’ve had more issues and repairs of stupid shit that I never dealt with when I had my 2010 kia ceed, which was also declared the best car of the year as well as best used car a few years later. Only drawback that car had was noise on the road. But again, 7 year vs 2 year warranty says it all to me..

it's a gorgeous car, but my problem with chinese or new brand is will they be around in my country for the next 5-10 years time? i'm thinking of course about the aftersales experience such as servicing and sparepart availability. i have chinese brand in my country but they always come and go. recently Wuling made a factory here so i guess that's the only chinese brand i can trust.

The dashboard lowering thing is a waste of money. You'll show it off your chums once (who'll probably laugh at you for being impressed with something that gimmicky) then never use it again, I'd rather have a few extra hundred quids off the list price.
