turning our back on (other) atrocities won't help them. they suffer from policy decisions, not a lack of funding. investing in our children provides better returns than any other option. It's cheaper to house our homeless population than abandon (or criminalize) them. advocating for them or against the policies keeping the costs of housing out of their reach may be a better solution than divesting from people who suffer greatly from embacing, condoning or gaslighting incessant and escalating violations of Jwish, Israeli and international law (with our very expensive help).

Excactly! Whilst you can debate the legitimacy of whether what she's saying is true and from morality, rather than money and power, it is a speech that should be heard. This situation has been portrayed as far too binary, with villinisation on either side. It is refreshing to hear that someone's at least paying her (or if we're lucky it's for real) to say we need peace, a ceasefire, and a two state solution. Whilst she should gave done it earlier and I doubt the legitimacy of what she's saying (aswell as saying joe helped in this, and supported any kind of peace), we do need to realise the horror of this war, on both sides.
