Engine Start 3.22 secs.
Here is the maiden of my VQ Mustang 1,580mm (46 size).
RCGF 15cc Stinger RE.

All a bit boring I'm afraid. All went well, but I still need to tune the engine. It is tuned for the ground, but I need to richen it for being in flight.

Nothing like the foamy airplanes huh, these buggers really get the heart pumping like the real birds, you really gotta know how to fly to take on IC engined planes,lol

I love rcgf engines. I have three from 20cc to 35cc very reliable. Congratulations on a great maiden.

Nice flight, I’ve just picked up a VQ Zero which was going to be 5S electric but I’m liking the 15cc stinger. 👍 cheers for sharing.

Did you need to add weight to the rear of the model to get the correct COG ?

I really try to avoid adding extra weight if I can. I try to move the batteries around to get the COG right. If I did add weight, it wasn't much.

I think that I did have to add a few grams, but not much. The VQ models love a big heavy motor at the front. It you had a 75 glow engine on there, you would need to add 400 grams on the front. The heavy 2 stroke gas engines help out in that regard.

Your accent, you a Kiwi? Great video. I like my VQ models as well. Have the Monaro with ASP91FS, and the P40 with a supercharged YS91FS Both are fantastic flyer's

I love the VQ models, I can't get enough of them. The P-40 is nice.

@@jbfordfocus they are a good base line. Well made for the price. With plenty of room to scale, or custom. I usually throw away the assorted bag of Goody's, re-hinge, replace pushrod guides with Dubro, or Sullivan. New good quality gas tank ect.

Awesome vid, I like both mustangs and I have the Freewing one. What nose cone and spinner are you using on the freewing model? Looks very cool!

Have you had any problems with the rcgf15cc engines? I've got the VQ Tuskegee p51 and I thought I might get one of those for it! What size prop are you using on it!

The RCGF 15cc's are very good and reliable. I'm using 15x8 props on all main planes.

Awesome! I've got the VQ P51 Tuskegee edition still in the box! I've been trying to decide what engine to use in it! I've got a variety of gas and glow! I was was thinking about using my saito 65 or a 9cc gas!😊

I would be interested to see how the Mustang would fly on 9cc or the Saito 10cc.

Was it running a little rich or lean?
@jbfordfocus
@jbfordfocus Год назад
It was running too lean in the air..It was fine on the ground, but once in the air it needed to be richer. So I need to over richen on the ground by about 200rpm according to the RCGF Stinger manual.
@jbfordfocus
@jbfordfocus Год назад
That part of the manual now makes sense.
@jbfordfocus
@jbfordfocus Год назад
So I read more info, planes tend to 'lean-out' in the air. So by going further richer on the ground by about 200rpm, in the air, it will lean back to normal . I'll let you know how I go.
