It's finally here, EA WRC in OFFICIAL VR!
This is a recording from the Quest 2 headset. While it's recorded at 1920 x 1080p, with my settings listed - it looks better in the headset.
VR rally heads have been waiting for this one.
This is my first quick first impression and gameplay with some light voiceovers.
I wanted to get this video out quickly as Steam had a discount on it at the time of posting, so If you have been waiting for VR, Now could be your time!

It seems something happened to the audio upon uploading! On another note, for the quest 2 I would recommend turning OFF foveated rendering in the games settings. It was a blocky mess without this switched off.

interesting, I don't have the 3D location screen, even with 3D location reveal turned on. I have never driven well with the steering wheel and arms on show, the delay is to off putting, the gear change arm flashing in and out of view super annoying. I've been driving long enough to know where my arms are without seeing them. Can you explain how to record through the Quest 2 please, I didn't even know that was an option with that headset. I also find the sweet spot with the Quest 2 in this game is tiny with terrible blurring outside of center. 5600x, RX6900xt on x570

Removing the foveated rendering fixed the sweet spot issue for me. Q2, doesn't have hardware foveated rendering so it's easy to disable and doesn't effect the performance too much! I like to have the arms on, it helps with some immersion but agree that the movements are abnormal and can be off putting.

With quest 2 recording, there is a "Camera" button on the home screen menu along the bottom next to the "share" button I think. Press it and at the top there is a option for recording. I hope that helps.

I got Open XR to run yesterday evening but you can't use any upscaling within open xr or in the game. I don't find the performance game to be very good even when I use eye tracked DFR on my quest pro.

I have heard that open XR has issues. If you can run it through steam try that and also turn off foveated rendering in the game settings. This helped the games graphics substantially. It was a block mess before changing this setting.

@@scorps0326 FFR is the first option I removed along with DLSS (really don't like upscaling in VR). I've been racing in VR for the past 6 years and I really want a next gen looking sim in VR. Lets give them time and see where it goes.

@@simracingjunky9679you can do upscaling in Oculus Debug Tool under Pixels Per Display Pixel Override, personally i'm using 1.2 value and it looks much sharper (higher specs you can use higher value)

@@simracingjunky9679 maybe assetto corsa 2 will be a next gen looking sim. ea sports will never be anything but a several generations behind vr sim.

@@socks2441 I have high hopes for AC2 but it's got some really big shoes to fill. I think they are using a custom engine for that one so I hope it'll work good in VR. We need that sim to have quad views rendering, I never tried it but apparently it's a game changer
