I still have my '03 GTI VR6 as a daily driver. I'm the original owner, going on 20 years that i've owned this car, and I still love it! Original chains too, but I only have 107,000 miles on it. Garaged and still looks like new, leather interior. Incredibly reliable too. Only issues were a malfunctioning cooling fan, valve cover leak (currently), and front tie rods needing replacement (currently). Only 'maintenance' is using Shell Premium gas, and dealership full synthetic oil change once a year.

So bad ass you were able to drive it that far. You and Stav did a great job.

This video reminds me of my first drive after building the motor and shaving the bay on my old MKIV R32T. No hood and all, although my test drive ended up in me being pulled over for expired registration, good thing the cop was cool about it.

That rubber gasket can be tricky to seat, especially if it’s dry, it can bind up, but you won’t know that as tightens... good on you to address the issue!

My biggest fear is as you said getting my transmission back together after this LSD install and something not working properly. EDIT: After watching the video and seeing you excited, that's what it's all about! It's like driving her again for the first time, I'm sure your heart was racing, adrenaline pumping until you pulled back into the garage. Good stuff George, you and Stav kicked butt on this and I couldn't be happier!
