I resolve about 50% of chargebacks in my favor. What's the reason for the chargeback? Is it a fraudulent card?

@@AirbnbRentalEmpire they haven't provided me with any information. Just finished speaking with their support and their saying it will take 6 weeks. Requested a manager contact me. I deactivated my listings with them

@@godofjamaica8002 Cancel their service or not, if you want to get the money back provide whatever info you can. There are steps you can take to prevent it.

That can happen also but don't think it was in this case.

Yes you can ask for sure! And need to do so

I'm actually not 100% sure how to view that right now, because I haven't done the payments through VRBO in a few years since I have property management software. If you want to be safe though, just tell the people that for all reservations you require them to hold up a picture of their ID next to their face. If they are using another credit card, they are unlikely to want to identify themselves that clearly. Should be good enough ;)

@@AirbnbRentalEmpire Thanks! I'm looking into Stripe myself, seems like paying about 3.3% for charge back protection might be worth it. I'll watch your video's on management software I need to learn about that too.

@@DesmaraisChris Yes, I do believe stripe has a chargeback protection program now but I'm not using it. We are just doing digilent manual double-checking everything. When you use stripe you have full transparency into all the card information so then you can definitely see the name

If you're unsure, have them hold a picture of their ID next to their face. That ID needs to match the name on the CC. Very tough to fake that

Yes, it's the old cashiers check fraud and has been prevalent for years. It's 100% not strange, but rather fraud! If you're bored, tell them you're interested and they are going to tell you they want to send a check and then ask you to give them some change because it's a company check and they have to overpay a little. Oldest trick in the book, don't fall for it
