The "connect to remote" feature is a lifesaver when you're working with virtual machines and you don't want to have VSCode or other editor installed both on your host and on your VM. Vim is good for editing things quickly directly on the VM, but when you're working on a greater project, ssh connection to VSCode saves a thon of time. Also, really helpful when you have VMs without a GUI.

It's funny how the entire developer community was tricked (intentional or not) into thinking Microsoft Visual Studio Code is open source. "Microsoft VS Code" is proprietary built using open source base called "VS Code". One the devs stated that it was proprietary because they add "Microsoft branding and configuration files". Extensions like remote development, Pylance engine, etc are also proprietary. Not that it detracts too much from being an incredibly good product. Just thought I would mention it so I can ruin peoples' FOSS OCD.

Thanks for a nice summary video. As nice as VS-Code is, the fact that it is not possible to grab a code view tab, drag it and place it on a 2nd or 3rd monitor, makes it a no go for me. Still it is a nice and reasonably light IDE with many useful extensions for pretty much any language. Markup editing with it is nice though, I do use it for that, from time to time.
