We stumbled across this event whilst walking, it looked like the best club to be a member of. Fantastic to see the ability of the cars, drivers and bouncers in action ...... functional engineering at its best. Awesome fun for all and everyone was having a great day out!
That's a GN. The 'road' here is called Drumhouse and leads up to a mine. It's unbelievably steep. It's paved now, and almost all cars reach the top. It used to be a mud track which, in English autumn weather, was almost impossible to climb. These pre war cars are surprisingly capable off roaders. Check out the outer VSCC trials and event vids.
and on the occasions when a car did come to grinding halt....so did the filming! I would have liked to have seen how the crews coped with getting their car moving again

@@AB-pl1ko I think this is still a kind of challenge when cars of the 1930ies where used on gravel roads like in their heydays ! So it doesn´t need more obstacles than the classic engineering itself . Most of the old cars are in good shape and known by their drivers very well so breakdowns are very rare and every car climbing that hill is a winner
Even some average people kept their granddads cars alive with more enthusiasm than money and they get their investment of time and devotion back : sheer bliss and fun during historical hillclimbs
