Ah I wish I would have installed this on my new vsett10+ 3 days after I got this Amazing scooter I took one hand of my handlebar to adjust the light at maybe 15mph or less And I totally had an encounter with the ground thanks to the wobble I have injured ankle, and badly scrape knees and elbows….
Thanks for the guide - was very helpful in figuring out where things went. My head bolt was super tight (both original and replacement), and it took a lot of effort & rubber mallet banging with the 10mm hex wrench to line up the side screw holes vertically. Glad it's done.
You may notice a lot of noise being made with the shock flopping up and down while riding. As an FYI, I made a few rubber washers and inserted them between the shock and the steering damper mount. They really help to make the damper quieter. Check out my UIanzi Mount #2 video if you want to see how it looks and sounds. Hope that helps some folks out! Thanks for posting this video, and wish you had it up before I installed my setup.
Did watch your video but didn't see where you made this modification. Maybe you could make a short video and point it out. Was listening for comments but only heard road noise.
Ordered mine, coming in 2 weeks. DEFINITELY NEEDED AT HIGHER SPEEDS! - thanks for this install video, looks like a piece of cake! Looking forward to experiencing the difference. 👊😎
I test drive my Brother's Vsett10+ in our street, set to speed 2. I max the throttle as soon i'm in the middle of the street. Smooth and fast acceleration when goes to 0 to 21 mph, then it will kick again on 21 mph up to 43 mph still going on but, i have to slow down on 43 mph cuz the handle bar starts to wobble a little bit from there i got scared and slowed down. Usually 40 mph that's the maximum speed you usually satisfied in driving fast in the street. Over than 40 mph you need a dampener to steady the handle bar on this Scooter.. This is just my opinion...My brother gave me his Hiboy s2 pro scooter 18mph max :( .. But still appreciated :) Thanks for the review :)
It make more sense for the black spacer for the rear hole supposed to be on the inside...not on the outside like you did.🤦♂...better movements because there's a SPACE(R) 🙄between the 2 solid pieces (less stiffness and stress on the rod), and to prevent the 2 metal parts from rubbing...the spacer also is beveled on one side...the correct way is facing out...so that the flat side rest flat on the inside piece and the beveled side kinda blend into the hole of the outside piece. The way you have it...it prevent the silver flexing ring from flexing to its fullest potential...full tilt looks painful as the 2 metal pieces are closer than they should be...stressing on the rod over times...also potentially rub/scratch.
Note** It would be advisable to remove the two (2) screws under the damper bracket, apply red loctite and screw back in before installing permanently. If not, those two screws will loosen over time.
What's the difference between the long and the short one? (Sorry, haven't finished the whole video yet in case it is mentioned) - edit: Nevermind! Thanks so much for the video
Set screws are almost impossible to remove on my scooter. Heated it with a hair dryer and it doesn’t want to budge!! Also 10mm wrench won’t go into the head bolt! So far this install has been a disaster!!!! Your example is straight forward but it looks as though your bolts and screws were much looser! Not sure at this point what to do 😐
What bothers me is that the original side setscrews(2) are much LONGER than the cap screws you are replacing them with...almost like those screws don't really do what they were designed to do after this installation. ALSO shouldn't there be a specific torque spec for the long main bolt?
Hi there. Where could I buy the whole kit? Including the steering damping + the mounting or base kit?. In Amazon, I've only found the steering damper. I appreciate your response. Regards. Juan
Don't buy from EVO. They've been screwing up orders because they don't have any more Vsett 10+ kits. They'll charge you $225 then send you a different brand part (Falcon) for the wrong scooter (Vsett 9). Their website even shows the Vsett 9 and 10 dampers as the same part. They'll blame YOU and say you ordered the wrong part. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
