VSG My Story of Weight Gain 

Thanks for sharing your personal story. I think it’s important for everyone to understand why we ended up overweight so that we can take the steps we need to take so that we can heal our mind, body and soul.

Ter...wow. I am truly at a loss for words other than to say, I applaud you for sharing your story. It was not only brave, but truly inspiring because you show strength, resilience and somehow keep a positive mindset despite what has happened, and your story of survival and determination to recognize the need for help and to seek a professional. I was sexually molested when I was young and I remember a therapist explaining how victims of sexual abuse will often “hide” themselves under layers of fat to seem less attractive so I could relate to what you were saying. I furthered my weight gain after numerous miscarriages, the death of my oldest sister and mother in 2014 and in 2015 dealing with the end of my marriage (that’s a whole different chapter)...and like you, I began to realize I needed to save and reclaim my life. I wasted a lot of time in my life and I wish I could have had surgery years back but I am a firm believer in things happening for a reason and maybe if I did not have certain experiences it would not have shaped me into the woman I am today. Thank you for sharing and you are right...you didn’t need a Disney response, 😂😂

You cared hard for your mom and brother. You know deep down they appreciated you. Now you are tending to you and making yourself healthy. I was stationed as active duty Navy in Rota Spain in the late 80’s. Just like a service person; you provided a valued service to the students you were teaching overseas. Thank you for your service Ugly, ugly people took a lot away from you. I am sorry they took the enjoyment of your service, delight of living in Italy and so much more from you. Thank you for sharing.

You certainly had enough horrible reasons for your weight gain. Now hopefully this new path that you’re on will bring a renewed sense of contentment and peace. God bless.
