This guy is hilarious. Between the new york canadian accent, the price of a 20 round brass box instead of buying bulk for about 35-55 cents a round, living in illinois, buying a vska, not understanding iron sites, and getting upset about the selector scratch. I feel like this guy is the greatest troll.
@@oskjehdhehd4945Steel is all Tula , Wolf 122 grain 123 grain That is all I have Run in it 1000 rounds Down Range Now Love this Rifle ... Have Picked up some Brass to see how well it will run Brass . ZERO MALFUNCTIONS !
@@l.r.skinner5695 ohhhhhh damn 1,000 rounds now 😳😳😳🙌🏻 What an amazing rifle ,,,geeeesh. It’s good to see great American made products, I keep hearing how great the Chinese AK is so superior,,, give me a break
I have a vska and it does run well. However my best advice for anyone, is if you plan on spending over 1000 dollars for an AK, go with zastava. I have two zastavas and for 1000 dollars, zastava is hands down number 1. I like my vska and enjoy shooting it, but it’s mainly my range rifle. You want a real machine for a 1000 dollars? Zastava m70 all day
I got the same gun, and really like the feel and sound, although I have a triangular stock. Oh and the safety, just bend it back, not much and it won't dig in, also oil helps
This is the AK47 vska trooper!! I have the exact same one !! Having said that if you upgrade on parts be sure to pay close attention to that fact or your parts won't fit!! Lots of ak Variants out there! But very cool I love mine
I am bidding on a Century Arms VSKA Trooper on Gunbroker, has the triangle stock and supposedly S7 billet trunnion. Hoping it's not prone to catastrophic failure or explosion. My first venture into the AK territory.
Funny you mentioned Gunbroker. I just ordered for the 1st time yesterday from their site. I picked up a Romanian AK47 AKM Refinished Surplus Laminated Wood Stock Set w/ Dong. I’ll be making a video on a AK wood stock install the moment it arrives.
@Steve Buscemi’s Left Incisor Cool, thanks. I won the bid and picked it up just a couple of days ago. Was $635, plus shipping, taxes and FLL transfer so $750 total. Someone mentioned i should clean the barrel and then take it out and run some rounds and then clean it again to remove any filings, factory oil, etc. Only familiar with disassembling an AR, so going to have to learn how to take this apart and I am sure there are several videos here I can watch and learn with. The only thing I noted on the firearm thus far, is that the front sight is ever so slightly canted to the left. Seems like something most folks learn to live with? It's very slight, so I am probably just being picky.
You might be from Illinois but you have the perfect true Minnesotan accent. It's perfect. With a Wisconsin flare. I'm researching this gun for buying. Thank you for the video.
I told myself that I don’t care what others say about the vska. People hate because it is American made and not imported. The thing people don’t realize is that the true AK came from Russia which u cannot get one that was made after the legislative law regarding Russian imported AK. So I’m reality it’s is an Ak made in the US which I’m fine with. It was my first Ak. The only issue I’ve had with it was when the safety wasn’t completely off, being that the lever wasn’t fully down. Once I made sure that it was all the way down, zero issues.
Yes but it has to be a folding stock ( Romi side folder for example), not a folding stock thats designed for a folding rear trunnion. Basically you need a folding stock for a FIXED TRUNNION. Hope that helps.
Man, they saw you coming...over a thousand bucks for a $700 rifle, and gouged you on ammo. You should have done some research on the AKM before you bought it. There are tons of RU-vid channels and videos on quality AK pattern rifles.
Pull the charging handle back a little then you can drop the hammer and let them both go forward. Irv8888 said it better but its better than dry fire. Glad to see someone into AKs I started with a century arms too if you find out its for you there is a whole world of AKs and accessories
The accent is “wicked smaaaat”. Almost sounds like Boston or Jersey. The scratch in the side is just normal AK safety lever. The magazine is US PALM. Most ranges do not allow steel core, which is what steel case usually is, but depends on the maker. Not all steel case is still core. Usually they are bi-metal. But most ranges don’t understand the difference. Glad you paid for the warrantee. No offense, but get your money back now, and buy something a little better quality. The VSKA’s are known to have problems. It’s the same old story with Century.... maybe you got a good one, maybe you didn’t. Anything made by Century, instead of imported by Century.... is a gamble. If you want American made, I suggest the palmetto state armory “enhanced” rifles. Even the baseline gf3 is probably more reliable than the vska. No offense. I know a guy that has a good one. But like I said, it’s a gamble.
Pretty consistent with what I’ve been seeing. I look at a lot of places. AKs are serious money right now. I don’t know if it’s all the import bans or everyone buying them because ammunition is still relatively affordable.
It does not have to be Century Arms Parts, but don’t buy cheap parts. Buy quality parts just because you want to save it doesn’t mean it’s always rite. You get what you pay for. A part that can be bought for a very low price probably isn't very good. That’s just my humble opinion.
@@SlickSlack4pac For not trying to be an ass you sure are doing a great job of it throughout the comments. This gun performed quite well in multiple tests from multiple people. Is it the best AK available? No, but it's certainly not the worst either. Let the man enjoy his purchase and be happy with it. I've seen Arsenals, Norincos and even rifle dynamics malfunction before. Nothing is perfect and for those not wanting to spend $2,000 on their first AK something like this is perfectly fine. Btw your "range gun only" comment is ridiculous considering most people really only fire their guns at a range and if you break into a house and the home owner has a VSKA it ain't gonna feel any different than another AK would feel when he drops you. Stop being an ass.
@@jd9708 let me guess 🤔....you own a VSKA. If being a ass means trying to stear people in the right direction from my own mistakes then I will take it. The WASR is a much better choice from Century, sorry JD thats just fact. The majority of American made AKM clones just don't compare to the Combloc AK/AKM rifles. Go out and shoot your VSKA, be safe and check headspace.
@@SlickSlack4pac Can't help yourself huh? I guess you're just a natural. I don't own a VSKA by the way so all you've done by assuming and telling me to "go out and shoot" mine is further prove what an ass you truly are. Most of my AK's we're not made in America but the few that were function just fine. The last thing somebody new to the platform needs is a little know it all dick like you trying to sour their experience. Grow up one day.
I just seen your channel. This VSKA alone makes your standard Romanian look bad. 😂. Go Through my playlist and you’ll see my inventory then you can talk after you 😈
@@pipefitterwithguns8688 the Romanians had Russian tooling and advisors setting up production, Century has the US market to use as a beta tester for their guns haha
@@dennisparker3786 plenty of them have blown front trunnions. Get yourself a forged trunnion PSA if you want a cheap domestic. Buy a Wasr if you want a Century. This thing however is a hot potato.
@@elgrueson2934 thats the problem, you shouldn't have to check head space after 5000 rounds. Unfortunately with a Century made AK thats the reality of your purchase.
