This is a very useful and fun gun to play with in Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl... 9x39 bullets go so slow that you can almost follow the tracer with your eyes. Still, with practice it is even possible to put down running targets like snorks or grunts.

Love her and her trigger discipline. 👌

These would sell like hotcakes in the US civilian market. I would kill to get my hands on one.

The Vintorez is one of the most aesthetically pleasing rifles ever created.

I'm also in love with VSS Vintorez and AS Val, and yes I learned about them from the STALKER game (Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, Call of Pripyat). In game it was my prefered weapon and spent most of my money for its upgrades.

One of my favourite rifles my friend bought a Rimington 700 that had a very good gunsmith convert it to .17 fireball and he spent about a year making the shroud suppressor and stock an d had a feinwerkbau trigger and a Simmons red dot to build the remtorez he still uses it on rabbits and foxes looks super cool too

used to love using this in the old Rainbow Six Ravenshield! could beat any of the other guns with it's high rate of fire and extremely low recoil :) was also fun to run around and use the M82A1 like a shotgun too though!

Absolutely majestic Sniper Rifle to posses the VSS. 105'/100.

I, through a unique opportunity, now am the proud owner of the scope used on one. The model I have is designated the PSO 1M2, produced by Zenit BelOMO in Belarus. The top dial reads BCC (thats VSS in Cyrillic), and interestingly enough, is now mounted on a King Arms VSS AEG. So I got an airsoft replica with the real optic.

I just read in the Simplicius report, that these rifle are increasingly being given to regular infantry, as a silenced rifle has many advantages. A 9mm subsonic bullet still has a lot of force.

I cannot get over how perfect she is lol and the rifle is awesome also.

The unique 9x39 subsonic rifle type architecture, complete with a PSO-1, also the shooter... it's picturesque stuff, alright.

Impressive, i am amazed how silent is the noise. But i know the max. range is only around 200m. This should be standard issue for regular soldiers, with attachment option of barrel extension for extra damage and range when silence isn't required.

arguably one of the best specialty subsonic rounds, it maximizes the (rather anemic) physics of traveling under Mach 1, which is to say go as BIG as possible, but adds the penetration of a steel core. Our troops in the Clinton era did similarly with the .458 socom round, held 9 rounds per AR15 mag with modified feed ramps/lips, they didn't need penetration for skinny, drugged terrorists in Mogadishu which the 5.56 round does fine, they needed a big hole... ;o) It and the similar .450 Bushmaster are great up to 100m. and maybe 150/200m. at an absolute maximum, they will have far more power, but far less range than the 9x39. Now imagine the common .54R case with this bullet, it would match the socom and bushmaster, being on a similar par with case size, but losing the subsonic quiet just as they do. I've seen AR barrels made for this caliber, and it's great that you can reload the common x39 case if brass/Boxer (USA and Europe mfg), or with skill and a tool if steel/Berdan (the vast majority, usually Russian/Chinese origin).

I used to have a wooden stock SLR (FAL) in the British Army. All the other, more modern rifles in my squad used black plastic stocks and I used an antique regimental heirloom...
