Freddy DeMarco introduces the VOX VT Series of Valvetronix amplifiers. The Valve Reactor is powered by a real vacuum tube to add authentic warmth and edge to the numerous amp recreations. These amps are also loaded with great effects.
Solid State..Valvetronix Amps the past 25 years have become Amazing i used only Tube Amps from 1973 to 2009..that when i was introduced to the Marshall MG 1OOFX 2X12 Stock Celestion Speakers and Vox VT 120 2X12..havent used a Tube Amp of any kind since 2009 dont need too
I am not a musician of any kind, but my bro bought a Vox VT20+ and hooked it up to his Ricky 330. F***ing awesome. I just cannot believe the sound he gets for the money it cost. Besides the great tone, he has a plethora of effects to keep you busy experimenting. The build quality is absolutely rock solid, too. I may not be a musician, but I know when things are built extremely well. I also know when equipment sounds good.
The Valvetronix amps really are great. I have a VT50 in my bedroom and I really enjoy its versatility. I will say that I swapped out its stock speaker for a Celestion Vintage 30, which I prefer. For what it's worth, my little Vox actually does almost as good a job of emulating a classic Robin Trower tone as my big Marshalls do. It really is an amazing little amp and it's a shame that they stopped making them.
Me too, and it does pretty good on it's "not marshall" tone. Been playing along to ACDC with my SG and its pretty much perfect. The "not a mesa" is really good too.
dude, same here...after so many bedroom/jam party amps...the 50w it's a monster, and warrior of beautiful tone. I put it thru hell and back so many times, it knows the way on it's own
I love this amp have had it for 5 years and the tones are grate, just want to say that no amp will sound the way it should on a RU-vid vid you have to get your hands on the amp to really know what you can do with it .
Just to clear up the Tube issue; Valvetronix Amps have a 12AX7 tube, that IS in the power section. I know that we always associate the "12AX7" tube with a preamp. However, our technology in Valvetronix is called the "VALVE REACTOR". It reacts like the the original amp's power section. This power tube technology creates abundant headroom.
I got one of these amps not to long ago and I love it, the presets are a little iffy but with some small changes in bass and treble and you can get any sound you want , I play metal and I can get some really nice deep distorted sounds out of this.
Hi, and thanks for writing! Can we ask you to explain how the video is misleading? We're happy to clarify any points in it for you. Hope all is well! -Your friends at VOX
I think you've all missed the main point here. Aside from now being sold on the amp (I tried it out last week at my local guitar shop- and it really is great), the faces Freddy makes are absolutely priceless. If this amp makes me do those rock and roll faces, it's worth every penny.
@JuanSaler the "Green" mode is focused on the raw amp models, with just a touch of reverb or delay in the presets. "Orange" mode features many effects in it's presets. "Red" is dedicated to artist patches, to copy the tones of famous songs.
Modeling amps are for versatile players who a) don't mind that they're not the highest end boutique tube amps, b) do many gigs that vary in style/genre and appreciate all the features, while not THE BEST effects or maximum control over them, its enough to get through the gig and make that money.
I bought my Vox Valvetronix VT30 in 2008 and I think this problem has been around with it since. Some of the amp models on the amp have more hiss then some of the other amp models on the amp but I hear it when I play a string. I test how much hiss each amp model has by palm muting the lowest string and playing it. I have the noise reduction set so there is the least amount of noise or no noise at all. The amp is quieter but again I hear the hiss when I palm mute a string and play it. And I understand the more gain there is the more noise or hiss you're going to have but some of the heavier gain amp models have less hiss than others. And even some low gain and cleaner amp models have a little bit of hiss when played. I tested both my les paul and Stratocaster and the amount of hiss on each amp model is the same with both guitars. I like the heavier amp models because I'm a metal fan and I am trying to record a power metal album. So I want the amp to be as "clean" as possible while still having the heavy distortion (if that makes sense to you). If you could tell me every way you know how get rid of the hiss that would be extremely appreciated. Thanks.
@cromaticas..Dude,,that's the face of someone getting INTO something that he loves man. I've seen some great guitarist really riff it out & they ALL have some kind of expression on their face. It's called FEELING dude..and it actually does exist.
@RGuitarAxel , Thanks mate. After tinkering for a while i must say that the Slash and Brian May settings are absolutely awesome and sound almost spot on, shame i dont though.
@murfdog19 Yes, I have played one of the fenders. I personally think that the VOX is more versatile. You can get the sound the fender will give you, and more. Also, this amp is a partial tube amp, so you can get great tube-like tones from it. What styles of music do you normally play?
@metalismymum you can use effects pedals on the vt100, like wah or effects not on the amp, or whatever foot pedal you want, it can also run through a 16 ohms speaker
I legit thought this was the guy from the Roland/Boss gear. Johnny DeMarco apparently has an identical twin with the same hair and mannerisms. Incredible.
All, can anyone explain me .. Can we use the same "VT Valvetronix" which used in this video for ACOUSTIC GUITAR also ? Is there a way to use this amp for Acoustic guitar also ? I tried it but no sound was coming from AMP .. Please advice.. thanks in advance !!!!...
I have a Vt50 and it sounds WAY better than that. I can only assume this was recorded via the line-in. Mine sounds nowhere near as muffled as that. Amazing amp.
@RijadHabibovic I am sorry, I think it's the green bank, first bank, ch.4. Really nice distortion/overdrive, I would be pleased if you could tell me witch amp models, parameters did you use in all 8 stored programs. and sorry for my bad english.
pls tell me, should i buy the vox 30 or line 6 spider IV 30? I like versatility and mostly heavy sounds. I also consider buying a marshall or a peavey or even a roland cube!
Hi! I am from Bosnia, I bought your VOX VT 100, and I must say that I am so glad and satisfied, It's loud, the tone is great, but I have a question!? I bought the VFS5 footswitch, and there are 8 stored sounds/programs, whatever.. Is it the same 8 programs, sounds on every VT series, or it isn't, because if it is I would like to know wich amp models did you use on the stored effects/programs. I would like to know wich amp model is on ch. 4 in first bank, the red bank, the tone is amazing! thanks
4:20 he goes kinda Bill & Ted, awesome amp,. I've never played a better amp in my life, I swear by them, I prefer them over my valves too, more reliable, if you haven't got one already, get one!
Hi.. If we connect an ACOUSTIC guitar with this VOX amp , does it work ???? I tried but no sound came. Even if this is purely for electric amps, i want to experiment with acoustic but no sound coming . Please advice...
@TylerVanderkooy I play a little of everything. On stage I use an Orange AD30HTC and Orange 2x12 cabinet. People say the Orange amps aren't versatile, but the AD30 does it all for me. I'm looking for something that can cover all territories but in a smaller package....and of course much less expensive.
Hi, just took delivery of my VT100, my first impression is its very bassy, and i cant seem to get any of them crunchy sounds from it, the 'enter sandman' setting is just not enterring the sandman. sounds quite muddy. could there be a fault on my amp
I bought this amp recently, so first of all IM IN LOVE. Secondly I noticed, when you want to play a guitar in a music shop, the workers will be weird if you want to try a really expensive guitar if they think you aint guna buy it....but...when you try out an amp...you can play any fucking you want and they dont care xD Yeah thats my advise guys, go try out this amp and choose the most expensive guitar you can find to play it through ;)
i just bought a vt100 amp its amazing, im looking for a VC12SV foot controller and cant seem to find one to buy, where do i find one? is it out yet? i seen it on the vox website but not to buy?
@TylerVanderkooy Okay, that's good to know. I may have played one at Guitar Center once, but I can't remember if it was the VT. I haven't owned a solid state amp since I was a little kid, but I would like to buy a modeling amp for practice and studio work. How does this compare to the Fender G DEC? Have you played one of those?
I get a crackling noise when playing this amp. I use the noise gate, but it still does it (and i don't even think it has to do with the noise gate). How do I stop it?
I have the VOX VT20+ I replaced the 8' Speaker with a Eminence Patriot 8" Lead/Rhythm Guitar Speaker American/Hemp and it Rocks I was in a music store trying out a SG and it was there so I gave it a shot I have used it for songs that needed a 60's mod sound as my Marshalls are not surf friendly that said , I never saw this Video with Goldilocks' hahaha and would not judge it on this as it is a good practice amp or if your Amp of choice is a Wall of Marshalls this will be a good amp for all the VOX amp tones needed for when a VOX is needed in the Studio for under 200.00 , Patriot 8" Lead/Rhythm Guitar Speaker American/Hemp included .I would not want this amp with out the Patriot 8" as it tightens up the bottom and makes it Chime
yeah it was a bit daft but its hard to decide on something, this or the vox15v 12" ? its the same price point but what is the better quality ? can this do what it does ? cause if so I will take all this ultra sweet icing they have added along with the extra watts !
@lordsombre you can get some good metal sounds you have to fiddle threw it a bit though, and a bit of advice I find that if you want it to be clear and make it not sound like ," it has a blanket over it" is tilt the amp up a bit or get a stand that tilts it up and it will sound fine I'll try to get a video up of this amp and play some metaly kinda stuff to show the world
Good for some deathcore stuff? I mean, any better than the Line 6 150HD i already have? i want to play some Born Of Osiris too.. would it help? please answer.
Hi there i have a bit of an issue about the VFS5 footswitch, in manual mode, channel 2 doesn't seem to scroll between the intervals of the pitch, i also made sure that the pitch effect isn't bypassed. can anyone tell me how this could be fixed? thanks
Dear everyone. I just bought a vt 15 to be used as a practice amp as i like its features (particularly the power section at the back and also the amount of amps available). Now the thing is my guitar is a fender telecaster thinline reissue and when i use it with the vt 15 i dont get as enough gain as the one in the video, even if i max my gain + volume + master volume! Am i doing anything wrong or is it my guitar? Help!
i just bought a VOX VT120+ amp and when i first plugged it i forgot to check the current voltage. I connected it to a 250V AC current and when i switched it on I heard a "woo" sound from INSIDE the amp,the LED's flashed and it went off.The fuse died so i replaced the fuse and used a transformer (120v), now the power is fine, buttons are working but there's NO sound.I tried AUX-in and headphones too, so i was hoping if you could tell me what to do OR how to get it fixed ...any suggestions guys?
For what it is (valve amp) this is a fairly good sounding amp. I have owned one. I traded up to a Bugera 6262 all tube and for a cheap tube amp, the Bugera was very nice. I'd say if you need al of those effects built in for home use, get the Vox. If you you minimal effects and just have a few pedals, you can't beat raw tube for tone.
@Classix1969 im not sure if you own one of these amps but you can get amazing tube tones from it, it's a tube amp so you only get the tube tone when you turn up your volume, you can also change the amount of watts it uses so can play turn it up on full volume at pratice volumes, but if you're talking about the video tone the metal tone is ok but vox guitars aren't very metal so it sounds alittle fuzzy
@murfdog19 The reason these overdrives sound like crap is probably because he did no EQ'ing. I own this amp, and trust me, the overdrives and distortions are amazing.
@stevehogarth85 In my opinion the new VT50, is a better option, as it has more storage for programs, 8 to be exact, and more features including independent reverb and harmonizing effects. I like the overall tone and voicing of the VT50 over the XL series, even with it being one speaker compared to the two speaker configuration in the XL model.
