How did you ascertain that this metering lever "fixes" anything? I've run an LM carb for 20 plus years and never had the engine die when running due to fuel starvation. The fuel is gravity fed and will push the needle down if it is stuck on the seat. There is some issue with flooding on starting because fuel leaks past the plastic needle tip once is is worn even slightly. You can stop that by turning the fuel tank cock off every time you stop the engine, or install the metal needle which will seal better on the seat with the Viton tip.
That's good that you mentioned the metal needle viton tip. Didn't you know that I also developed the metal needle viton tip? It's a long story how did it started. You can ask NormK on ODK forum as the early prototype was documented on the forum. In the early release of the metal needle, we have an issue with the burr on the new primer cap brass seat which catch the needle rubber tip on the seat. On the manufacturer point of view we can't change the hardness of the rubber tip as it sacrifice it's sealing properties. It took years for me to figure out to find a solution without modifying the needle and convincing the manufacturer to produce the tooling. In the end after 5years, the metering lever was finally produced and sold over 1000pcs with promising results. Thanks for watching and following my channel.
Hi Wayne, make sure the float will move freely when metering needle is installed. Before installing the float (only the metering needle and metal needle) make sure the metal needle will moves freely with the metering lever. If not, you must have the early version of needle which has larger crown neck which will restrict movement of the lever fork. Pay attention of the lever tab should sit flash to the back of the float. The genuine and aftermarket float will likely deform the lever tab. I may produce a RU-vid content to demonstrate this. Try to remove the lever to see if still flooding. If still flooding, you may have problem with the primer cap brass seat. VARIETECH

We managed to design and get the product manufactured because we understand the cause of this flooding and fuel leaking. Unfortunately, we dont have the float. We can't design the product to work on all different types of aftermarket floats, primer caps for the system to work 100%. We can only achieve this and optimise it performance and functionality only with all the parts we provided, especially the float. One of the examples is our metering lever won't work with other aftermaket float and will cause flooding. Our primer cap won't work with particular aftermarket float and will cause flooding. There are lots of uncertainties when combining different parts from different manufacturers. We are happy to help you but unfortunately we cannot have private conversation here on RU-vid.
