I love the Anarchs in the sense that they really reflect the curse of vampirism - even when trying to build something new that fights against the oppressive yoke of elders, it still gets torn apart by lack of perspective, selfishness and paranoia. Just as Caine was cursed to never grow anything good from the earth again, nor can his children.
I recently watched an interview with someone from the VtM creative team explaining why they created the beckoning in V5 and it was so story tellers had a way to easily remove problematic elder NPCs who could cheese almost any issue their group was having. The thing is that kind of change shifts the power dramatically in favor of the Anarchs, because now that most of the elders are gone and the younger kindred are getting their first tastes of true leadership and power-something they probably would have never had otherwise. The Anarchs can come out and say, "You see? You see? Isn't this great? Things could always be this way if you join us." and that would be a compelling sell for the Anarchs. Especially to those in the Camarilla who will more than likely lose their newfound positions of power the second the elders return.
Yeah, the Anarchs are a lost cause if they allied with the Followers of Set. They are already halfway into being just as bad as the Camarilla, and most of the younger Vampires are too dumb to realize it.
Followers of Set are not the main problem here. Lack of direction, selfishness and infighting are. I am still true that they will at least try to do with Anarchs what they have already done to certain Brujah city I shall not name. Hatfu. Fucking snakes. Camarilla is ages-old and stiff but it provides structure and, in my opinion, is best for both kindred and mankind. If the elders would pull their heads out of their asses for long enough to notice rise of humanity's power and act on it there is still a chance for both.
the anarchs used to be sort of part of the Camarilla before the 2nd inquisition purge. the majority of Brujah and Gangrel from both the Camarilla independents and even some from the Sabbat defected to the Anarchs the ministry followers of set followed later. Yah the Anarchs have a more decentralized leadership structure however the 2nd inquisition find it more easier to hit the anarchs than the elusive Camarilla, however due to the anarchs decentralized structures , the anarchs survive. the inquisition onslaught.
One of my favorite clans. Clan Brujah Anarchs. Vampire metalheads who want freedom and equality among all kindred and their hatred for the ventrue is Honorable. 🤘
And they mostly comprise of cartels and gangs that do dirty buisness out in the streets. Hardly honorable people. Camarilla at least doesn't air their laundry in the public despite beeing internally just as rotten.
