If I remember correctly the older editions had the Nosferatu and Imams use true faith like 5e's warding circles but you didn't need Blood Sorcery. Maybe a loresheet could bring it back

I mean balancing between your morals/beliefs and your thirst is one of the main themes of VTM, a religion can be treated as a path or humanity and the like

Love the videos. I will add the alliance between Camarilla and Ashirra makes little sense, the Anarchs or Sabbat would of been better. The Ashirra have still have Cappadocian and Salubri which the Cam bloodhunted. The Camarilla is anti-religion and only allow the Path of Humanity. Lastly, the Ashirra helped start both the Anarchs and Sabbat with members belonging to both

You're several decades out of date. Since the Ivory Tower closed its doors things have changed. One of those changes is that religion is back. Actually, religion never went anywhere, it was merely hidden, practiced behind closed doors. The alliance between the Camarilla and the Ashirra in no small part symbolises this "everything old is new again" era. In any event, the "alliance" is very informal and about 90% symbolic. And it involves an agreement to leave each other alone, meaning if they were harbouring Salubri... well... that's their unfortunate business. Finally. The Cappodocian clan has been extinct for about half a millenium .

@@PaulRGauthierOn the Cappadocians they were not extinct. The gentleman gamer speaks about how the clan had too much popularity and the writers were very divided on the matter. So the story where the "last Cappadocian" died was semi-canon with the Cappadocian's soul going away being non-canon. Since Cappadocian's death was open ended, and written to be according to his plan, it is hard to reconcile the different wishes of the writers so they opted to unify and simplify the clan

@@PaulRGauthier Also on religion in regard to Paths. The Camarilla only uses humanity, stains for diablery and cruelty is a Path of Humanity focus. All other Paths were forced out or phased out though coercion. The Path of Heaven and "Good" Paths like Blood and Honorable Accord joined the Sabbat or were practiced in secret

Very "inclusive" of them to now only be focusing on Europe and North America. Seriously, when v5 launched it was supposed to be turning the World of Darkness into the actual **world** of darkness, the whole big diverse world. That was awesome and exciting. Now... now they're literally repeating all the worst things White Wolf did.

@@PaulRGauthier in my v5 game I've definitely played up my usage of the Abrahamic religions. It's taking place in the Bible belt area of the US, which is filled with Salubri, Lasombra, Banu Haqim and Ministry. Because of the American South's religious ties, it has allowed for clans and sects with religious roots to find homes there. For the Autarkis and Inconnu, the Hecata has taken on the role that the Tremere has for the the Camarilla. Weaving and manipulating the veil and wraiths, imbuing items and weapons with necromantic protections and amplifications. Salubri are the priests, offering succor and a calming presence to the beast that plagues kindred kind. There are Toreador and Malkavians here and there, but because there are no big cities like Chicago or New York, or LA and California in general, the more religious kindred have taken the South for themselves. And instead of my game going the typical "downward spiral". It's moreso an incorporation of the fluctuation of religion:hope and despair, repentance and coming back

Ashhira means ‏عشيرة in Arabic which means clans . Although there’s name Qabilat = clan. But Ashhira means whole clans. For they like Arabic during the Islamic age they drop off their clan supremacy and racism and embrace one and another ad brothers and sisters in faith..

My virst WoD/VTM tabletop game was a DA20 game as a Lasombra fledgling that had only been a vampire for 5 years. His sire was Silvester De Ruiz (if you know you know) and he was a Knight of the Knight's brotherhood who had lost his faith after all the death he had been apart of (he was from England with some Irish in him). THe initial game was being run like a Crusader Kings game so it wasn't taking place in one city and our ST was railroading us HARD. we had a falling out and me, and two relatively new players who didn't know anything about VTM (didn't even play bloodlines back in the day) joined with this guy who had been playing since the First Edition (who in that game had an Ashirra Lasombra) who ST'd for us. We did a time skip so we were in an Elder's game, my guy being a few hundred years younger than the rest of the PC's but man was he powerful. Lasombra elder with a Revnant bloodline (brought about by the mixing of Toreador and Lasombra Ghouls) and an Abyss Mystic. He could wipe the floor with people much older than him. Anyway, he even knew that you respect the Ashirra and don't take fucking with them lightly because they are as much fanatics as the Knights Templar were. Their traditions and laws will bring hellfire, blood, and dust upon you in the name of Allah, even to the point where they were fine with Diablerie. Their numbers were many and the court my dude served in was a parallel one in Alexandria to the Ashirra there. The Salubri were still around at that time and man, Salubri and Banu Haquim that dedicate themselves to sorcery and fighting are terrifying.
