The motor sound of the VTOL are from the PIDs being on the high side. P was a bit high. Like you are saying,with some more tuning time, I should be able to get it to fly better. Responding to comments wasn't actually thought as an strategy, I just started to read the comment and respond to the one that I had something to say. LOL it's really cool to do it. Thanks for those good wishes.

The main difference is the "tilt-rotor" feature- most quads use a combo of thrust change and the physics of spinning disks (the prop's rotational dynamics, i.e., gyroscopic forces,) rather than rotation of the whole motor, thus reducing weight and complexity (important for customers). Watch a RU-vid about the Boeing Tilt-rotor, and you'll realize what an engineering nightmare that must have been! I went to their web page and am really impressed by how well designed and robust the tilt gearing is. As to glide performance- No, they don't show that, however, their inspiration is the Cessna skymaster, which is a pretty stable platform with a reasonable L/D ratio, even with all that hardware-induced form drag. I'm now going to REALLY nerd-out on my own design!

That's the same thing that I thought when we I first saw it flying after putting the last screw on. I couldn't believe it.

This is the result of a lot of frustration, crashes, sleepless nights, and all of the founders personal savings. It was not easy but totally worth it.

AIMDROIX ,LLC Good, that is great to hear. Protect it well. You've got a really good product idea here for the FPV crowd. I have no doubt that it will scale well to larger craft. and with that the implications for a large scale camera mount with minimal gimbal interference for high speed production camera work is really intriguing, both the fixed wing and the tilted multirotor. I would hate to see you loose out on that because of getting scooped by a bigger company. Keep up the good work guys!

You need less power to fly in "plane mode", so you can have longer flight times.
