11:51 to give some context to what he said, Lord Kroak is one of the oldest Slann, a first genearation one, the first generation slann helped to move the planet closer to the sun and spoke to the old ones themselves. Kroak was so powerfull that he managed to hold of millions of daemons by himself, the Khorne sent a hit squad of magic resistant Bloodthirsters (Greater daemons) to tear him to shreds. Instead of Dying, Kroak decided, he would not die and his spirit kept on killing the daemons, his spirit lives on in his mummified corpse and still occasionally drops suns on his enemies. after the endtimes Kroak became even more overpowered, he is the rarest and most mighty pepe in all of Warhammer, I mean slann, mightiest Slann.

A doomstack as you said is when you stack 19 particularly strong units. Like full Necrofex Colossus for Vampire Pirates. It's interesting how he plays with mostly chariots. When I have to deal with Skarbrand as Settra, I bring a Light mage and 2 units of Sepulchral Stalkers in my army. The light mage has a spell that's called the "Net of Amyntok" that straight up hold the target in place for several seconds. The Stalker are ranged unit specialized in killing big bois. 2 of them on an immobile Skarbrand usually deletes the angry boi in a matter of seconds before he can actually deals damage to my army in melee. Extremely satisfying to see. After that I just run over his army, as one do. And then my armies in endgame always ends up being a bunch of constructs, with Ushabti and Bone giant for artillery, and big kitty cats, scorpions and sphinx for running over the unfortunate infantry on the opposite side. When a Legendary Lord dies, he indeed respawn after a few turns. Usually it takes 5, but some traits can reduces it. Notably fucking Vlad from the Vampire Count can respawn every single turn, and beating him give the same ability to your Lord. It VERY quickly become a slapstick comedy when you have to bury him again every turn. For normal heroes and lords, they die for real if they die in battle and you have to recruit them again, unless they reach level 20, at which point they gain the Immortal passive trait that let them respawn as well. Oh and the Rogue Armies are usually themed. The one he fought is the College of Pyrotechnic which use... lots of explosives and cannons. One of the infamous one for ruining early game is Vashnaar Conquest. This mofo can pop up in turn 16 with a full stack of elite infantry including Chaos Chosen, Black Orcs, and Dark Elf elites.

Quest battles are simple, every Legendary Lord has special items from their Lore, once they reach a specific level the quest battle unlocks and the player is notified (and in the notification the player can see what is the enemy army, if the enemy has reinforcements and how probable is that you win the battle), then the player can move the Legendary Lord's army to the place of the battle or spend 500 gold to teleport the army there (and the army returns to its original position once the battle is finished), the battle itself is unique for each item and can be anything, you being ambushed, you ambushing, a 1v1 between your army and the enemy, you fighting 4 enemy armies, the enemy and/or you recieving reinforcements, etc..., some are easier than others but the items usually are very good and you get money so you always want to fight those battles

I mean you pretty much nailed it with every point you made so I think you've got a good grasp on the game. I agree with others, Kroq Gar is a great first choice. I am honestly really looking forward to seeing you play it, there are surprisingly few 'first time' playthroughs of the game on youtube.

18:40: Ambush is a stance armies cna take on the campaign map by spending part of their movement. It makes the army invisible to enemies (though it can be discovered by nearby heroes or armies) and if an enemy army gets close enough on their turn, it will automatically launch a battle, with a set chance of that battle being an ambush. Ambush battles aren't just a buff or something. They have their own map with the ambushed army starting in a march column (so all units line up one behind another, with melee units at the front, missile units behind them and artillery at the tail of the line) at he center of the map, while the ambusher can set up their units all around them. It can be absolutely devastating.

8:33 You have special legendary lords, like settra who are immortal. Meaning if they go down in battle they are wounded and can be recruited back in a fee turns. But for every generic lord yes unless they reach lv20 and get the immortality perk if they go down in battle they dead as fuck.

I can highly recommend Okoii and his videos if you are looking for ridiculous army comps.

16:17 The white, unbroken bar is their moral and if that gets low enough the unit will route, the blue bar (well, it's supposed to be blue but it looks more white in the footage so I'll go ahead and call it the "segmented" bar to better point it out, it's the one above their health) is their Barrier which operates like an energy shield in Halo for the entire unit.

Yeah every race in the game has different mechanics from one another, heck even some factions within those races have unique mechanics from the others. So you're definitely gonna have a different experience for every campaign you play.

Starting with the lizardman definitely isn't a bad idea. Their roster is pretty straight forward, lizardman aren't very special in terms of mechanics and the non dlc lords don't have a ton of extra mechanics. But give some dlc lords and more complicated factions a go once you have the basics down. My recommendation is Ikkit as the skaven have a lot of fun toys and dlc lords all have some cool mechanics.

The toumb kings don't have to pay upkeep for their armies, however to balance this they have a terrible economy and need fo build recruitment buildings to increase the unit capacity for anything but the bottom tear melee infantry

to check out a few doomstacks i would check out Okoii and his many useful and not so useful but very funny 20 stack videos All legendary lords are immortal and when defeated usually comes back after 3-5 turns, lords and heroes also gain immortality after a certain level so you won't lose them in the later game Tzeentch units all have essentially protoss shields that take damage before their health does and if you don't take damage for a while the shields regenerate automatically so if played correctly tzeentch units have infinite health, technically anyways

If you want to have a bit lore mixed with total war gameplay i would also recommend the "Noobs guides" of cody bonds, those vids are awesome!

2 youtubers i recommend you watch is reggie and cody bonds as both their channels are entertaining and funny a hell. Reggie is like Grim kleaper in which he does campaigns and adds humor. Cody bonds is more informative while adding humor, you should definitely watch his Noob's guide series as they talk about specific lords and what they bring to the game, so it helps you learn for when you play warhammer but also entertaining

“If we could change the names of settlements in this game, I’d call them poland.” Funny thing, that IS an option in this game, along with changing the name of your faction, your leaders, and other stuff. A friend of mine takes ENTIRELY too much amusement in coming up with funny re-names, like Greasus Goldtooth’s faction of obese man-eating ogres to the “GET IN MAH BELLAY!” Faction. Some random mechanical stuff that was asked. The blue bars on Tzeentch units are a shield bar, a forcefield that will recharge if that unit is able to pull away and stop getting damaged for a bit. Otherwise, the red bar is their HP because in the game, YOUR unit’s HP bar is always Grren, and the enemie’s HP bar is always red. (the white bar that all units have is their morale. That bar gets drained, the unit 🏃‍♂️💨. Also, regarding defenses for units, just some of the terminology. “Melee Defense” is the chance of taking a hit from an enemy’s “Melee Attack”. Armor is a dice roll to negate the damage of an attack, IF that unit is hit at all. Any “armor piercing” an attack has means there’s no dice roll, that unit is taking at least that much damage. UNLESS “Resistances” are in play, lol. Anything “Resistance” is a percentage damage reduction, and they all add together for attacks that qualify for more than one resistance. An plain, normal. arrow hits a unit with “Physical resistance 10%” and “Missile Resistance 15%”, then that unit is taking 25% less damage from that arrow. If it was a Magical arrow, then the Phys Resist wouldn’t have any effect, and it’d be a 15% damage reduction just for the Missile Resist. ALL RESISTANCES, when stacked together, max out at 85%, It doesn’t matter if you have 60 Phys and 60 Missile resistance, (120% damage reduction) that ordinary arrow is ONLY going to have 85% of it’s damage negated. (meaning the armor piercing damage, and any damage that won the dice roll to not be negated by the armor) Final note; Ward Save. That is “Resistance = YES” for a unit, lord, or hero, and it’s usually not available in TOO high amounts. (5% Ward save here, 10% Ward save there) but it’s still a damage reduction that effects EVERY kind of damage. (Phys, Magic, Missile, Flame, etc) Oh yeah, “Flaming” attacks are just an extra qualifier that can be tacked onto other types of attacks. It’s basically a “Yes or no” on whether the damage from an attack is going to be reduced even more than normal (because that unit had Fire Resistance) or there’ll be even MORE damage because that Unit had a weakness to Fire Damage. It’s basically a spicy, spicy cherry on top of the damage sundae, and depending on the enemy, it’ll make them run away screaming or grin like a maniac and come back for seconds. (Grimgor Ironhide has 35% Fire Resistance naturally. So any army using flaming weapons will have a HARDER time killing him, than if they didn’t have any flaming weapons at all)

Gor-rok was the DLC lord lol, but I might be too late at this point. Kroq-gar is a different guy who is similarly OP as a lord but has a far worse start and lacks the Kroak Nuke. Edit: I will specify all Lizardmen can get Kroak. That's why Kroq'gar has him in the vid. But Gor-Rok starts with him, so it's easier to use and also gives him a BUSTED start.

Every factions lords/heroes(you can under certain circumstances recruit other lords of your chosen faction to act as heroes{A.K.A. generals} of your armies) game mechanics are so overpowered in their own rights that they all cancel each other out the keep the balance of power in check with the only way to overcome these issues is to "GIT GUD".

actualy campain batles are locations on the map but if you dont wana travel in the location you can just spend gold to teleport also they unlock trough the level your legendery lord reaches kinda like the regiments of renoun also you can partake in those batles through the batle screen in the menu witch gives you a preseted army also the number of models per unit changes depending on the unit scale you are playing at

so i don't know if this was mentioned or commented on yet, but whilst you were right with the term of 20 stack being a full army, a Doomstack isn't an army of really powerful units, it is an army that has a lord and then the other 19 slots are taken up by 19 copies of the same unit, e.g 19 swordsmen, 19 cavalry or 19 artillery etc

It's a fun game but you have to be prepared to lose a ton of campaigns before you understand how your faction functions and how to get through the early and mid game to get to the late game.

Yes, the limiting factor is money. Armies, especially multiple armies, can and will get wildly expensive, even more so when you begin to introduce the higher tier units.

Kroq Gar, essentially, IS the army. I've seen videos of him beating three full armies, back to back, solo. It's fucking whack what you can do with that lizard if you play your cards right.

You should take a look at Rimmy Downunder Gaming's videos on Warhammer Total War. He's got two videos on the Empire, one on the orcs, and one on the Wood Elves. Fun guy but you can get an interesting look at how each of the factions play.

Yeah tomb kings is an interesting army to start with, since you don't have to worry about upkeep and raising an new army is very cheap and quick, but the number of armies limits you. so you have to be smart.

7:53 Tzeentch can cause the player to skip their turn so it's not only the player who can screw around with others on the campaign map.

This guy did an episode where he made a one man army while at war with everyone at the same time with the 2nd amendment

if you wish to know more about settra I would reccomend the videos of pancreasnowork and The book of Choyer on the King of kings.

If u are wanting to watch stuff similar to this for Warhammer i whole heartedly recommend checking out Rimmy. A local psyco and funny guys with some modded campaigns but what i recommend is his Grom the Paunch campaign or his Throt the Unclean. Both funny and tell his stories to become a culinary master and gene splicing mastermind.

Personaly I wouldnt recommend Tomb Kings for your first playthrou, for the same reasons this video mentioned. You have limited capability of getting your stronger units and while Grim has thousands of hours in this game, so he knows what to do, you dont. I would recommend good old Warriors of Chaos for your first playthou, Kholek Suneater and his Shaggoth doomstack especialy. No diplomacy, no building, no going back and defending, cause you dont build, you only raze settlements, only have to focus on fighting and getting more armies.

I suggest you also watch the main Channel vedios of Total War War-hammer 3. They have lots of series which explain the basic Gameplay, good comedic fun and give you an idea which faction does.

The only other one I would recommend is Reggie. His vids are of a similar nature to this.

I know people are exited to watch you play as the lizard men first but I would advise you to play the tutorial first this game can be a little overwhelming if you haven't played total war Warhammer before its called the the prologue.

Kroq Gar used to be not very good, at least on higher difficulty, bc he buffs melee infantry and in Total Warhammer 2 melee infantry sucked ass and you were pretty much always better off getting missile infantry. With the rework of combat stats in Warhammer 3 melee infantry is actually viable and Kroq Gar buffs some of the best melee infantry in the game- the Saurus- by a lot and he's one of the best lords in melee combat.

The other currency is canopic jars which are specially for the tomb kings which are used for research, item crafting and building, when a lord dies they usually stay dead unless they gain the trait immortal or are a legendary lord and will come back after five or less turns, the end game crisis are special events for different faction that give them special leveled army’s and make them declare war on you giving you another option for campaign victory, tsneeches units have a special barrier mechanic capable of taking ranged attacks for a certain amount of hit-points until breaking, also I’m a warhammer nerd if you need any info comment
