In this Stationeers series I attempt to survive on Vulcan and become a trader! On this initial episode of my series I have landed on the inhospitable planet of Vulcan. I first check the atmosphere and see what supplies I have to work with. Then I begin to build a shelter to protect us from the hot and dangerous atmosphere. I also build a rudimentary power system to keep my batteries charged. I hope you enjoy!

Build a base platform on top of a mountain. Gave me clear views, good clearance for solar and away from lava. Disconnected all the supplies from the lander, including the O2 tank. Yes, it blew up. But the explosion flattened the base. That stationer died horribly.

That waste tank... was almost pure oxygen. Very hot pure oxygen. Good luck with supplying food... you will need it.

@@Bushwackah I had to spawn food crates as I had no luck finding any kind of trader with food for sale. And building enclosure that is at proper temperature range for growing plants is going to be ... interesting. I ended up running my base off coal. As usual. But in this case it is so easy to find more than enough of it.

Before I go out exploring, I like to throw down my tracker and keep the tablet in my uniform just in case I get lost. In the recent update, straight out of the gate, I fell/glitched through the group and got crazy lost. :D

I am pretty sure you know this now already but notice for new people that having 2 APC in parallel is absolutely no use at all. And you may want put battery charger before APC not after where it just drains APC battery and adds unnecessary load to network . You could use other APC in airlock.

Get your oxygen tank into a vacuum quick because it is going to explode. Once it gets to 10m it with explode.

You can use your waste tank to breathe after cooling it because many oxygen is thrown in waste tank because of high temperature.

Just tried the map.. All was fine for 30 min, until my base and the lander blew up :D *Note to self: DON'T leave your welder out in the open, its pure TNT :(

At that temperature , furnace can smelt most things without fuel.

I think you plugged in the data of the battery charger and not the power, your battery is not flashing

Data and power enter through the same port, likely no power was being generated from the solar panel.

What's the reason for building your shelter? I'm assuming you're just putting the manufacturing machines inside. Is it just to capture the overflowing output? Or is it just to make it more homey?

The shelter is important for sheltering yourself and your stuff from the environment. Stay tuned to see that in my next video!
