No shit. Agreed, in a major fucking way. And, that's coming from a bassist who actually started out on tuba in the 6th grade, with bass guitar not far behind all up in the tuba's ass, then surpassing the tuba a few months later during Christmas break. I realized pretty young that the tuba wasn't gonna get me some trim from the ladies. I'll admit, it was Gene Simmons, who made me wanna play, but, once I discovered funk music, I've seriously immersed myself balls deep in the funk since I was maybe 12 years old, and it continues to this very day. And, I still haven't discovered anything that comes even remotely close in any frequency, like a low frequency instrument.

The reason why different audiences clap on different beats is worth a Google search, if you're into music (which I assume you are, since you're here).

I don't know about that, I've never seen that myself. I'm talking about spontaneous audience clapping, without a leader or anything.

From a quick search, it seems like there are cultural reasons behind that as well, like European classical music versus traditional African music. I'll look into it

In addition to what you’ve eloquently mentioned, I’ll also add that Dart is very musically tasteful as an improviser, as is the whole band - even when they’re all playing at the same time, it still sounds almost minimalist in terms of how metronomic (in a good sense) the groove is. That, and every single one of them is, straight up, in the pocket from the first note to the last. No wonder the audience was left heaving.

Because it sounds German. And in fact What is pronounced "Vulfpeck" in English is actually written "Wulfpek" in German. I don't know what it means but "Wulf" in German is the wolf in English. In general Vulfpeck have some German overtones over their namings and written video comments or some of their tune titles: "Kuhmilch" means "cow milk" for example.

If they had a dedicated vocalist then they'd probably feel the pressure to always have vocals and we wouldn't get gems like Dean Town, My first car or Beastly. ...and would Theo ever get to sing with this setup? I say don't mess with something that works so exceptionally well as Vulfpeck. It's better they continue with this kind of inner circle/outer circle thing they have now.
