Vulfpeck - the Benjamin Button of faux german late 20th century rhythm section style bands also the only faux german late 20th century rhythm section style band
_Major label talent scout_ - "Look, we just LOVE what you're doing, but we think you could work much better as a solo act. These guys are holding you back, to be honest. How would you feel about a 3 album deal?" _Cowbell guy_ - "That's how I've always felt. Let's do this"
According to Woody Goss, from his interview on Leo Sidran's Third Story Podcast, this is Woody's first ever performance with Vulfpeck. Somehow he moved from cowbell to piano, later on.
Daaamn, Mr. Dart got that Fender squawkin'!!! His style is so classic, one could even say minimalist, but his finesse is what makes it unforgettable. That dude was born to play the funky bass.
Jack's sportsmanship is amazing. He knows what he's doing when he plays, but he puts an equal amount of zeal in cheering on his band mates and just jamming to what they're playing. It's so much fun to watch.
It makes me upset. I love this band, but I’ve spent my entire 20 life cycle so far trying to find people who want to do something similar, to no avail. Not one single musician I encountered wants to do anything interesting. I’ve been playing my ass off since I was born. I’m not good at anything else. I do it cause I love to play, I don’t care if I get popular. Everyone told me I was doing the right thing growing up. I was hailed as a “genius”. I hate it, because now that I’m an adult everyone expects me to get a 9 to 5. I’ve had many 9 to 5s. I was the youngest person in my neighborhood with a job. I hate being employed by a company tho. Every time I try to get my life “in shape” it means I have to give up music. But I hate the way that feels, and then everyone’s like “noooo stay with your music!” so I always go back to just playing. But then I’m broke, homeless, & I scare people. People think I’m insane. And then they start going “you need to be more responsible”.
Got mine on a weird pandora channel i made up - this appeared and i was like that's pretty fuckin cool so let's do more. it does help a bit with stress, i can tell you whut
Saw the fearless flyers video in my facebook feed, couldn't believe it was a 2018 band, then I went on youtube to check more FF videos, and now I live on the vulfpeck youtube page.
I just love how unpretentious and chill these guys are. Great vibes. Everyone has their turn to shine as a musician, no attitude just pure jammin and soul
So it's gotta be: A BASS A BASS A Bridge A BASS A Bridge I actually think it's so cool that they show this even just for a second. They obviously know the parts, but it's good to have a form chart to keep track of where you're going.
I already had an afro, so after one listening, I magically developed a Jeri curl...going shopping for new shirts today, as the shirt I was wearing has drip juice stains on the back. Music was so funky that even the shirts in my closet got drip juice stains, b/c of the level of funkiness. The struggle is real...funk doing some strange thangs out here.
The absolute talent that this video portrays is unbelievable - Jack with his claps, Joe with his wet fingers, and Theo actually smashing the drums. Can't forget about Woody and his ghost notes. Awesome
I thought I was safe, but scrambled my eggs right out of the bowl listening to these cats...if this is the shape of Jazz to come, count me in... super energy...Kudos.
Aweeesomme!! Check out their other vids too... the cowbell player is an ace Rhodes player... and the drummer plays guitar... and the Rhodes player is the drummer... and they still groove as good as that
I know my bassists from the Jazz greats, heavy metal speed bassists and lots of funk legends. Joe is just simply the best bass player I have ever seen.
my favorite part about this is the keyboardist is just as hype over Joe Dart's playing that he stands and just starts clapping and moving his body in awe. He wants the sexy funk as much as we do.
I get the joke, but still if he's not using a note then it's likely missing him and pretty eager to get back in the game. But NO! Those are the most important notes. The ones you don't play. You have to play some. But if you get to choose...I would keep the best ones to myself too, and try to keep a straight face about it meanwhile. Ahhh...the rare smile. DAMMIT WE WANT THOSE NOTES
