Boris Ninetoe The trick that Vulfpeck and Louis Cole use is to place the mic between the snare and bass drum. Picks up them very well and the cymbals aren’t too pointy and crazy that way too

you'd be surprised how much Jack goes into his recordings in post and messes with drum tones through the Vulf Compressor. Nothing wrong with it at all though, but compressed drums are some great shit

Vulf compressor also does a good chunk of work for compression and tone here too, it's like the band's secret weapon

idk if they had it back in 2011 tho but this sounds rlly amazing still

Hopefully i will be able to post this also, i might add. of course, i could be wrong; but The Wolfpack, from the Hangover movies; was a Massive cultural touchpoint where i'm from (Canada/USA culture etc.). And if this band wasn't paying tribute/proclaiming kinship with that Blockblaster-i'd be surprised. I disagree. Joe dart doesn’t over power songs at all. He knows how to create good bass lines, I would say there are no songs where he is “shredding the whole time”. People always attack bass players who try to be innovative.
