I remember going to see these guys play at a USC house party. By the time Vulfpeck was halfway through their set, I looked back and the place was /packed/. I mean there were people everywhere! Rows of people going all the way back into the street, people standing on trash cans, sitting in window sills, dancing on the roof, sitting on shoulders, honestly i thought the house was gunna collapse. I've spent hundreds of dollars to see bands perform in massive stadiums but nothing has ever compared to the $10 I spent to watch this band groove out for an hour across the street from an Arco gas station. So good.
@@tegmiles5569 if you watch the video for sky mall, you can see that a wurlitzer's leg falls over and makes that *clang* noise, which fit perfectly into the recording
i recognize my father on the front of this album cover but i haven't spoken to him in many years. please help me and give me his contact. thank you. he's the one with the groove. -son of milk carton father
absolutely love you guys. bringing real music back into it! such great bass and extremely funky keyboard riffs. I'm sure I'm not the only one to say that you absolutely need more of antwan. His voice is godly and definitely completes your sound. I do love the instrumentals tho, just need more of antwan. cant stop singing 1612
What are you, 13? If so, well, do us a favor. Come back here in 10 years, or even just 5, to read these comments again. The feeling of shame you'll feel by reading them, thinking "god, I was a dumbass kid" will be enough to make up for your idiocy now. If not, I feel sorry for you and the people you meet every day.
Vulfpeck is like a cross between Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, and a healthy dig from past and present of funky blends. Brilliant bass lines AND they totally have fantastic taste IMHO in their use of sound effects on the instrumentation. Don't get me started on the keyboard sounds. Impressed on all sides :-)
Vulfpeck need to tour in England, it would make my life. I don't care if I have to pay for their tickets to get here, to hear this live would be impossibly amazing.
YES! See you there brother, I just discovered Vulfpeck yesterday and bought the ticket straight away. I thought that if I didn't, I'd probably regret not seeing them for ever so there I am, on the coach from Newport to London to see them :D
I am biased, because Steely Dan has been my favorite band since I was like 12, but Vulfpeck is not quite there for me. They are also a very different band. VERY GOOD, VERY TALENTED, not Steely Dan though, for me. But, great taste!!!
Holy sh!7! Just randomly stumbled upon you guys, where have you been all my life! So much groove, so much swag, so much funk, so much soul! Keep it up. Love it all. The drummer is so dialed in I can't stop dancing, that bass speaks to my soul, those keys are more warm than a hawaiian rainbow, and that voice, wordddddddd. Thank you for existing to make sweet sweet music for my ears
Love Vulfpeck! Also check out Brother Strut. Not as dirty and filthy funk, but still a very funky, tight band. I like the stuff where they are playing in the attic room. Also loving jar Bernhoft. Amazing live too.
wha da funk!! Impossible to listen to this on headphones at the office and don't start jumping on your feet!! I can't work anymore!!! Best album EVER!!!!
Massive Record!!! I am certain that if you collabed with Micheal McDonald for one song every yacht on Earth would simultaneously dry-dock. Keep it up boyos!
Close your eyes and "First Place" could easily be mistaken for the greats Steve Gadd, Richard Tee, and Will Lee. And that's some friggin' high praise. This is outstanding.
Just discovered this album on 2022. This album is sooo dope and groove game is strong! That "Frank Sinatra" in 1612 though!! Everytime I hear Antwaun singing it, I always sing and shout along as if I'm in the middle on their concert.
Huge Ep. I listened all albums and EP and it's awesome. Very good work guys. My favorite song was the song with Antwaun Stanley. You deserve more guys. Continue like this. "love sending"
Love it! Really hoping to make it out to the Brick and Mortar in SF next month! Thanks for putting it up here as well - bandcamp is blocked at work and I need my funky grooves.
