When I do these I undo the torx screw holding the white door lock blank in place about 9 rotations then smack the torx tool im using with the palm of my hand sharply This then shocks the white door lock blank to become loose and then easy to pick out of the door skin.

Who ever came up with the idea of a removal outer door skin should have gotten a big raise. Nice to have everything right there at you.

At least here unlike the A4 you don't have to worry about taping up the window glass, and whether you taped it up securely enough to avoid having the glass come crashing down to the bottom of the door. The whole time I did this job on my A4 Beetle I was nervous about that.

I use suction cups to hold the window up... most of the time they stay stuck to the glass. Sometimes... I turn around and the cups are loose. Haven't had a window drop yet, but I pay way more attention to the window now (or remove it completely (just in case).

So much easier than my old 1993 Saturn design! you have to rip all kinds of stuff apart to get to anything inside the door . Thanks Thomas!

Done a few window regulators with that style door, yet to do a door latch, first one is always the hardest😨

Yeah, I too like this design... when the panel doesn't stick. I cut-out a couple of minutes of me prying. =(

They moved away from removable panels in the later generations. Not sure why they toss things that are actually good!?

Hmm the metal rattle of a screw dropping to the bottom of the door, "Ho Shit" is the well known phrase lol :-D. I like the outer skin door, untill the screws rust in ha ha :-D.
