I see alot of ppl talk this is slow....what cars you drive?i have an 335d 400hp.and for me this 280hp is not slow.maybe you watch too many videos of lambo and bugatti.srry for my english
The design of the new Arteon appears really cool, progressive and aggressive!! It is the most emotional design of VW in the last few years and the car is a worthy successor of the CC. Especially the new front with the R-Line package appears very strong!! 😍 The interior looks like in the new Passat but even this is on a very high level! Maybe it is possible to launch two sporty V6 engines (diesel and petrol)!! Than the car would feel more sovereign. I´m really looking forward to the new Touareg in the upper class of VW!!
@@2crytex2 I've been in one, I wish we had them on Europe. On the states they have it with the 3.6 VR6 AND it is much softer than European Volkswagen's.
@@sandurace and not practical golf has tiny boot. No good if u have a family?, hobbies or long legs. So seeing the arteon has the big boot, good leg room etc and not much slower than a golf. No brainer
An Arteon RLine cannot win a race against a Golf R. The Arteon is 233 kg more heavier than the Golf R and 30 ps less powerful. And they're made with different purposes. All in all the Arteon reach 253 km/h gps speed. For its 280ps its a very good result.
Heheh the moment 7:44 when you realized you cannot pass the VW Golf. And that moment when you wanted to test drive other cars likely audi rs6, mercedes c63s and many more to beat the GOLF 7 :)
Dude its a figure of speech as obviously isn't half the weight. To be specific the Arteon is 240kg heavier (approx. 3 adult males) and as we know 30BHP down. Wow what a shock that the Golf R pulls away!
today i went and sat in one of these at a car dealership in penrith and MAN they soooo damn sexyyyyyy!!! never in my life had i thought to even look at these beasts!!! totally a game changer.
Just be serious guys....the Golf R has some 40 HP more. It didn't take more than an IQ of 75 to realize, it would pull away at least. To pay more money for a small trunk and less space at the 2nd row, makes only sence for guys who never had or have a family. There are other ways to make the Golf R looking dump,...........it takes only 5000 Euros or less....there are a lots of faster cars on the market
Good amount of HP but the torque is low. I'm wondering since VW etc is pushing these amounts of HP out of a 4 cyl, when they will reach the boundary of what a 4 cyl is capable of and actually switch to a 5 cyl.
Basically Arteon has the same detuned engine as the GOLF R right? I just got an Arteon 2.0T 268 hp in USA. Will probably take to get it tuned. Maybe IE or unitronic?
This is the “Flagship car” put a 2.5T or Vr6 in this thing. You don’t want to step on Audi’s feet? Unfortunately you priced the beautiful Arteon into Audi territory, so why buy the Arteon?
god golf's are ugly, when you look at this thing, it looks so executive and posh yet it has the same engine as a golf r, tune it with downpipes then re run that golf haha

It is a purely emotional problem: the car is ridiculously cheap as an annual car, a joke if you compare it to BMW and Mercedes. It can do everything perhaps a little bit worse than the big names. The fact remains: As an annual car it is an insider tip, a car for rationalists!
4 Zylinder halt. Fahre nen Audi A4 2.0TDI auf 240ps und nen älteren Audi A6 3.0TDI 240ps, man merkt der A6 hat vorallem bei höheren Geschwindigkeiten und trotz höherem Gewicht den besseren Zug, einfach weil mehr Zylinder ne bessere Kraftaufbringung haben.
@@toxicgerman1228 Ich hatte vor 10 Jahren mal einen Mercedes E350 CDI mit 265 PS. Der ging problemlos auf 260 km/h und wurde da dank Hersteller eingebremst. Der VW hier geht wirklich ganz schön in die Knie. Heute fahre ich nen S500 mit 4.7 V8. Da merkste, dass der bei 180 km/h erst zum Spielen rauskommt. Der drückt unnormal oben rum.
Der Arteon ist wie der CLS (von der E-Klasse) vom Passat abgeleitet. Aber er ist wirklich top und vom Charakter her ein ganz anderes Auto! Ausstattung und Verarbeitungsqualität sind exzellent. Das Auto macht wirklich einen sehr wertigen Eindruck und steht einem BMW in der Innenausstattung in nichts nach. Er ist lediglich nüchterner. Gefällt mir unheimlich gut! Ein Klasseauto, was leider total untergeht.
