Thanks for a wonderful Spring drive. Such a beautiful area that you showed us. I love it when you end with additions to your "Stash" - faith has been restored! Another Class A video, my friend! Keep up the great work! Chuck in Kansas
That's where all the VW buses went to! And outside of Germany in the late 60's/early 70's, not sure if there has been a larger collection of VW steel like that in a while. Nice drive, and I fall in love in love with Crusty more and more time spent in it ;)
great vid ! those are some good driving roads ! I used to work at a vw off road /resto store in the late 80's and sold those wires at 8.99 a pop...didn't know they discontinued them
Love those old VW buses and trucks. So many things look so familiar even 50 or 60 years later! A VW bus was the first vehicle I wanted to own, and I've never owned one! The restored ones are getting way out of my price range now.
nice ride in Lucy notice you use the hand chair to stop in side nice!, was that the lakes you were driving by Crusty handled very nicely the car shows two in one not bad I miss my VW still thanks Mustie it was fantastic of you to go through all that in one day for all these peeps of yours keeping the dream alive!!!😀😀😀👍👍👍
Lovely scenery....nice mellow drive......too bad I didn't see any Farnicastaffs for sale.....or even at the event. But your Crusty sure gets plenty of attention.I like that look....and you don't have to worry about a few scratches or dings....just adds to the flavor
Hey, Darrin! Someone got pics of Crusty and the bikes and posted them to the "Facebook Car Show" group. I added a link to your channel. Hope it gets you a bunch more subscribers!
Awesome vlog. I really love the oceanside cruise. Reminds me of when I was a kid in FL. Can't drive along the ocean in FL like that now, too many &$¥% hotels blocking the view. Thanks.
i like finding humor in life, and today it was at 1336 of your video. the turn indicator signs, seems to me the atlantic ocean directly in front of you would be the first, and only needed hint that you need to turn, lol
Cool video Nice scenery. When I was a kid, my dad was able to borrow a VW bus from work ('62?), drive us around baseball, etc. Make me wish for one now. Thanks.
What a lovely weekend, beautifull weather and vw's, what more could you want :-D. You might want to take those bosch cables apart and take details, cant be impossible to make your own :-D.
I love this video. I had a '63 VW van That I had rebuilt the eng. I put 83 mm, or was it 85 mm jugs, an SCR electronic ignition and changed to higher gearing on the back end. It gave me 27 mpg. after that as well as the ability to climb San Diego State university hill at 75 mph. Before it was doing good to give 40 mph on that sane hill. I put an old rebuilt Ford pinto carb. 2 barrel 2 stage progressive linkage. I had to swap out the primary and secondary jets. Here's the thing: swapping out those jets was not a thing, which had to be done all the time. It was just something I had to do, and man that V Dub could run. I love that old van.
This older gentleman I know has a beetle and loves the air-cooled scene. he has had a number if surgeries so he has a real hard time working on his own car. He decided to start up his own business rebuilding Volkswagen speedometers and selling them. Even junk ones he usually uses parts out of. He lives in Georgia, if you ever need a speedometer or happen to have a bunch you don't want, I can get you guys in touch.
Oh the nostalgia...I drove a bug and then a van for many a year back in the day. Sure wish I still had one but fun to see that some people still do and that they know how to work on them. I may be a luddite but I would rather have a VW van than a modern car that is connected to the internet and talks to you.
The blue VW pickup sure runs nice!! Very nice area you drive around! But the bike in the back, on the passenger side, don't think I've seen that one "previewed" yet!!
mani can remember when I was about 6 or 8 years old my ant had a VW and she took us kids for a ride it was really cool it had a feel to it you just don't forget this is making me want one really bad I like the little vans I could really have a lot of fun camping at the bluegrass festivals and mud fest blowouts vw world looks like good clean fun
I always enjoy the rides... I'm so fixated on your single cab, I almost forgot about your deluxe bus... The horde looks like its ready for another great summer.
My 73 Dodge W100 had that same black stuff. It was a mold due to the Oklahoma humid environment..............Mustie1 dude I drool everytime I see your 67 Mopar.
A couple of thoughts. at the end of the video I thought I saw the air cleaner assembly with a pool of oil around it as though the engine is experiencing excessive blowby throwing oil up in the air cleaner. of course that would only count if the PCV system takes clean air from the air cleaner assembly. 2nd thought: . electric fuel pumps. sure saves a great deal of cranking when the carbs are dry. great for winter operation when there is little battery reserve available 3rd thought: personally, I remove the batteries from vehicles that are not going to be driven a while. put them all on my battery shelf and cycle a battery maintainer from battery to battery on a weekly basis ( monthly will do to ) . just to make sure they don't sulfide up and are ready to go when I need them. Just a series of thoughts from an old over the hill country boy. jack of all trades, master of none except for running my mouth off. ps. . I am now addicted to your videos. well done.
ah, to take a cool VW out on a drive , can't wait to get my 70 Karmann Ghia restored and my 72 Nova , but I have too much going on , but I get to see the cool rides you have :-)
