This is my favourite channel for all things VW California! I really hope one day we get to meet you both and have the opportunity to buy you some beers. Keep up the good work 😀👍
I had seen these wardrobe shelves before but being used with books. We didn’t see the potential of them until seeing your video today. We have now placed our order and look forward to them being delivered.
Parcel arrived today all fitted looking good. I found it was better to just put the rear pins in for the top shelve then fit once in place. Also I put the bed down which made it easy to fit the shelves. Thank you for your recommendation Will.
Thanks for the video! I have been contemplating these for ages, so fed up up bringing every packing cube out and the one you want-it’s always on the bottom! We do have different colour packing cubes, but they get mixed up pretty quickly! So have hit the purchase button and appreciate the discount!
Another great video Will. Have been looking at these for a while. Only had our California a week but after a cheeky weekend away the 'wardrobe' is already doing our noggins in so order placed 😀
Thats a great job for organising all the bit n' bobs for traveling and theres still a decent drop if you had to hangup a jacket or dress. Thanks for making this video, it was helpful.
Nice vid Will and lovely camera work Sarah. I’ve been looking at these shelves for ages now. I just need the van to put them in. Our spare room is starting to fill up with things we’ve bought for the van. Soon we hope 🤞
@@CampervanTime I do love and appreciate your videos. I have watched you both since you started and I learn something every single time. Thank you for the effort you put in.😁xx
Hi Will. Great video as always, you guys are awesome. Hope your van was dead level when you used the spirit level lol. I'll definately get some of these when my Cali arrives in January
Hi Will. Thanks for the video. I have bought these ready for the arrival of my Cali. Very useful to see you fitting them. I did wonder why you didn’t put the seat into bed mode but you spotted your deliberate error! I’ll be interested to hear how you find them on your travels! Cheers Jim 😀👍
Hi! Technically yes the hanging rail can be put back in but realistically you’d struggle to use it due to the shelves being in the way of the hanging space.
Yes they sure do! It's a very smart solution actually because the rear shelf support covers up the tambour door when it is open (ie rolled in to the cupboard) which is great as it means it's protected from the stuff in the wardrobe then. If you message them I suspect they can send pics to explain.
Hello! No it can’t I’m afraid due to the two large holes that are drilled on the bigger single flat panel that mounts to the front of the inside of the wardrobe (that I had to take off and re-stick) - those holes aren’t central. I’d suggest messaging yes campervan as they might even do you a custom set perhaps with extra screw holes already drilled? 🤷
Great video as always Will. I was surprised that you used a spirit level inside the wardrobe - presumably you had levelled the California first ?? Anyway, it all worked out very well and I love the time you always take to give us every detail. I think some 'presenters' feel they have to hurry and then they miss important bits out or don't give the relevant details that make sure it all goes right first time. Brilliant. (by the way, we have the same IKEA sofa bed in our garden cabin! We love it - so useful for visitors). Keep up the great work. I wait eagerly for your always-useful videos.
If you think this is detailed, I actually cut it down from being over 30 minutes long in the first edit!! Re the sprit level, well, we’re lucky as our parking place for the Cali is flat and I did check it on the on-board level gauge on the display. That bit got cut out of the edit!!
I've been waffling over whether or not to get these and (don't laugh) it just occurred to me watching you install them that I can just remove the shelves whenever I need to hang stuff like my ski jacket etc. Thanks
Hello, thank you so much for your nice videos, it help us a lot :) Can you tell me where did you buy your colored lamp on the cabin please ? Is it connected to the power supply or works with batteries ? Thanks !
Hi! I presume you're referring to the coloured balls? They are from Cable and Cotton (google them!) and they are USB powered from the end of the kitchen :)
Good job with the video! Not sure how the two thinner supporting sides would fit in the T6 Cali due to the tambour door? They seem great but VERY expensive though 😱
They do a version specially for the Cali with the tambour door - the left hand side shelf support on the rear is more of a box design that allows the tambour door to go behind it and be protected from what’s inside the cupboard I think. Have seen some photos.
@@CampervanTime thanks for the response - that would make sense. Those tambour doors are so fragile. The T6.1 sliding doors seem much more robust. We chuck all our shoes in the bottom of the wardrobe and our packing cubes on top 🤪. It is easy to access the base of the wardrobe or more difficult with the shelves?
It’s pretty easy to be honest, probably made more so by the fact that a lot of the stuff is held on the shelves out of the way, leaving the centre deep bit free to get to. Everyone uses this space differently so it just depends really. You could also only use the upper two shelves, as this would leave a bigger lower space.
Actually we were surprised how it didn’t really affect things because we now store more stuff higher up in there. Before the shelves we never stuffed the wardrobe really full to the top so now we can actually use more of the space 👍
They’re really nicely made, low volume manufactured and fit perfectly. I’m not sure my measuring skills would have got anywhere close if I’d have tried to knock something up in the garage !
Given the price, they should have 5 times the amount of sticky tape.... To better hold them on (previous versions came unstuck in the heat) and to stop any vibration against the back wall. Good video though....Sarah filming through the wardrobe 😂
You’d be surprised. We can now fill our wardrobe up to the top around the side and back on the shelves, then use the centre ‘hole’ for a bag or two. It’s SO much easier to get at things now than it was too.
