I'm not a camper myself - I'm mostly here for Louie [❤️🐾] but I really am most envious of your van. What a setup! My mother would've loved it. She loved traveling & often talked about getting a campervan & setting off with Dad. But sadly, he wasn't a camper type either. Dad's idea of "roughing it" was basically - slow room service. But again, I do enjoy watching your videos & seeing what you all see when traveling. REALLY enjoyed your visit to Ireland - the views you captured with your camera were amazing. Sending a belly rub for Louie & hugs for you & Jo. Take care! ❤️🐾🇺🇸🇬🇧
Thanks Jane there’s more of Lord Louie coming soon 👍 having a camper it just great for adventures with Louie he get all Excited when he sees his packing the van for a trip Thanks again for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
Nice to see the full set up. I've gone for a similar set up for 240V when on campsites - just bought an RCD Camping lead - it comes into the van under the passenger seat (where the Ambulance electrics were) then we just run a 4 gang surge protected socket off it. This way we don't need to get the Electrical Certification to go on campsite hookup. Our house already had a camping plug installed in the garage, so we could hook up to that to keep the batteries charged up if the Solar isn't doing the job.
Sounds like your van is coming on well 👍 I like to keep all the set us very simple 😀 thanks again for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
@@onemanandhiswhippet Van build progress halted while we try sort out electrical issues - bit of warning light bingo if we start him more than a couple of times in a day - battery tests out fine - plus his headlamp hi-beam warning lamp doesn't work on the dash - so he can't pass his WOF (NZ MOT) until we can sort that out. 🙄🙁🚑🚐🛠
Lovely van tour Dave 👍 ... we have got a bottle opener exactly the same as you 😊 we were given it, by a very nice man who saw we didn't have one and could help us out 😉 ... 🤗❤️👵🏼🐾🐾🤠
Lol 😂 very funny hope to be using your bottle opener soooooooon 👍 thanks as always for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️🐾🐾🍺🍟
Mr and Mrs whippet . You have the best van conversion I’ve seen . I’ve always loved the Crafter ! As I said to you before it’s not the most popular for conversions ( as in you don’t see that many)but in my mind it’s a brilliant vehicle and your conversion is so perfect ! We just got a Motorhome as we have 5 to carry and need the belted seats . I went for the swift Sundance 630L but if the family was smaller I know I would have taken the panel conversion route . Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻👍🏻
Lol well thank you 🙏 We live near to the Swift factory and have friends that work there 👍 you will have all the mod cons and luxuries 👍 enjoy your adventures 👍 hope to see you on the road thanks for watching very best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍❤️😀🐾🍺
One Man and His Whippet Cheers mate ! I actually started looking at the Swifts after I started watching Daren on the urban Motorhome channel . I see most of the van meet ups don’t have many motorhomes there but I don’t care about the vehicle , it’s all about the social thing for me lol .I would have preferred to do my own van conversion but i had too many kids 🙈🙈😂😂😂 Take care buddy 👍🏻
Great video tour Dave. I do love your set up. Is your van the same as Gadgets the make I mean. Without swopping to look again. You do make me laugh with your humour too. Poor Jo. Loving Louie he is a special boy. Keep up great work x
Hi Sue be our van is a VW Crafter and John and Mandy’s is a Fiat 👍 Many thanks for watching please you like our mad look at things 😀 very best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍❤️😀🐾🍟🍺
LOVE those roller cupboards, have you got a build video up anywhere please? I,m thinking you need to fit an onboard WINE TANK Dave, just so you don’t run out in an isolated location! Its fine to run out of food but NOT WINE! 😳👍🏻😂 You know i might just patent that idea for a pumped wine dispenser system!
Lol 😂 there always some wine somewhere in our van to keep Jo happy 👍 sorry I do t have a vid about the roller cupboards they are easy to fit you just need to fit the top roller and then some channels for it to run in 👍 thanks again for watching 👍😀🐾
Great setup Dave. Some mates went to a crafter meetup at the ponderosa cafe in wales, last weekend. Apparently some rare 4 wheel drives there. Love to Jo and Louie ❤
I've driven vw crafters from 07 ish and sprinters newish on and off over the years and I've not seen a better vw crafter it must be one of the best in the uk
Lol good luck try this line 👍 It’s like having a holiday cottage that you can take anywhere And you can take all your stuff with you too ! Or just get a whippet to go with you instead 😂 thanks for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
I do like your van, its a great looking set up. For us I think we need the toilet cubicle but our vsn is about 5.1m so still not too long. We are also planning a Christmas trip but will stay reasonably close to home so family can still visit 🙂
Follow your vids here in Australia, but born and bred in Nottingham, love your simplicity in the van. I'm currently converting a med wheelbase Merc sprinter so all very interesting and helpful. We have two dogs, a Springer and a Cavalier. 👍 Keep em coming and happy travels.
You do have loads of space by bothering with a separate loo and shower. The extra width form the bonded windows at the back is the perfect solution to a full width bed, no silly bulge addons. 👍🏻
Love your set up Dave. I so wish I could sleep across the van but its just not an option at 6'2. I would need to get an ex ambulance type vehicle or install some of those pods to extend the sides. Not sure how viable that would be.
I’m 6 foot so I’m not k in my van but if you are by yourself (unless you get lucky) you can sleep across the bed lots more room the beds about 4 feet across 👍 it give you about 7 foot 👍😀
Great interesting and useful video, thank you! Refreshing to see that despite outward appearances (posh smart van, various 'toys', hobby paraphernalia, additional gadgets/ cameras/ lights etc. 😉) you do actually keep things simple, as you say. Simple electrics, strip wash in the sink. My kind of camping 👍. But as you've said before, the van is never finished. How long before you think of something to change or buy? 🤔😂
Thanks Sue I like the idea of being able to fix things if needed on the side of the road and to have room for all my outdoor toys too 👍 I think we are done with the mods on the van for now we just need to get out as much as possible and just and abuse it to ha e as much fun as possible 👍 Thanks again for watching 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
Thanks Chris and we will be back at that site in April at the overland show 👍 re the gas there a gas alarm in there and a drop out in the floor too the bottle is fix with a strap too We only turn the bottle on when using it and off and disconnect when driving too 👍 the bottle in the back is fix in and only in there for storage it’s not used from there👍 Thanks again for watching hope to see you at another meet up 👍😀🐾
That really is an awesome set up Dave, perhaps now Hull council and police have relaxed legislation on herb grows you could do a guerrilla grow in the back to help subsidise all the gadgets that John keeps recommending you to buy lol Great vid buddy hope to see y'all again soon 😉
Great van, bloody good set up looks good from the outside brill on the inside love it that it's all 12v, very simple that's exactly what we are doing at the mow trying to keep it simple 👏 thank you for showing us around your beaut great video 👍😉❤️✌️
Hay great van, nice set up! Finished my crafter build last year, so much better, oh and I live just around the corner from you, small world, must have a beer and talk vans sometime
Looks even better, nice, I’ve got a very similar set up i just have the kitchen on the other side and a full cooker and a large fridge for beer! Looks great bet your over the moon with it
A beautiful setup you have there. Just out of interest, have you had the unit on a weigh bridge after all the modifications? I'm guessing it must be quite close to the MGW. Great video and hi to the Mrs and the mutt 😁
Many thanks for watching Andy yes we have had at a weight bridge and with full tanks and two people we start are united the 3.5 Please check out our other videos Thanks again for watching 👍😀🐾
Hi Dave and Jo, this is a video that I love to revisit. I couldn't quite make it out in the video, what size/weight/type of gas bottle was the one under your cooker in the cupboard at the back? Also if you ever get the chance could you give us a closer look at how it is connected up to your cooker. Thanks, and please keep 'em coming!
Hi there the Gas is 15kg and last us for a very long time 👍 shop.calor.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/y/cylinder_butane_15kg_1.jpg and they way it’s fitted is very simple we just have a regulator that pushes on to the top of the bottle and it has a on off tape we disconnect it after with used it and when we are driving 👍 thanks for watching 👍🐾😀
@@onemanandhiswhippet Thanks for that guy's, glad I asked as it didn't seem that big in the video and I was curious to see what size it was. I also note that it's butane..one of the perks of carrying your gas inside the van. Like you, we have a compressor fridge and Eberspacher diesel heater, also coincidentally, the same cooker as yourselves and find that by spreading the resources it doesn't use much of any of them. I am always impressed by your "no fuss" attitude to your set-up.
Nelson Van Dweller LOL 👍 I think it’s due to having so many vans over the the passed 35 years 👍 just keep it simple but make it practical and comfortable too 👍😀🐾
@@onemanandhiswhippet Hi Dave, can I ask one more question please, do I need another regulator between the gas bottle regulator and the hob, or can I just have the rubber tubing from the gas bottle regulator to the connection point on the base of the hob? It will be removed like you do all of the time that we are not using it.
Awesome camper, loving the black that’s what’s it doing to my transit, what does yours weigh in at? I’m concerned with weight but doing a very similar build
When this video was do it was just in the 3.5t but check out me newer videos it’s had a full new refit and I’ve gone Lithium too 👍 thanks for watching 🙏👍
Hi Brian all the dimensions are on this site my van is a MWB high roof crafter 2017 crafter Thanks for watching vandimensions.com/database/volkswagen/c 👍😀🐾
Hi there this is the link to the video about the aerial and the Ebay link is in the description of that video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RJtQmmzlxpc.html Also in the description of this video is the link to the blinds from eBay Thanks for watching 👍
Love your van and setup, when our T5 comes to the end of its usefulness or we want to go bigger I'd love to go for a similar setup. With the tent hookup, we've gone from tents to a camper so kept our 3 plug unit like yours and I've been thinking of doing the same. On most of the forums they say it needs to be earthed to the van, have you done that?
Hi there Ian I can’t understand why you would earth the unit to the van 🤔 the van is sat on rubber tires and it would not make any different at all Unless you then earthed the van to something 🤷♂️ Sorry maybe I’m missing something 😂 Thanks as always for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
Great set up Dave. My DIY skills are just about zero so my van is a small Auto Sleeper but like you say it’s all about personal requirements and needs. My question is, are your waffle boards about 1 mtr long, or are there longer ones available ? Sorry I didn’t have Instagram ( I’m so old fashioned and out of date it’s untrue 😊).
Hi Dave the waffle boards are a met long but you can cut the with a hand saw as I have done to fit around the roof rack and other fittings 👍 I have friends that have a auto sleeper and love it 👍 Thanks again for watching 👍🍺😀🐾🍟
I tried to get blinds like that for my side windows but I can not find any big enough to cover them . So I got some slide across like paper . That’s what I’m hoping to be doing weekends and the odd week my wife is from Kent so we will more like be paying kent a few time .
Hi there Jennifer we have a eberspacher diesel heater that runs from the van main fuel tank 👍 Louie is asleep on my leg at the mo snoring 💤 thanks for watching very best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍🍟😀🐾🍺❤️
Thanks for this. Sweet dreams Louie! We used to have a whippet. They are beautiful dogs. We have recently got a motorhome and I learning a lot from you. We love watching you on your trips.
Jennifer Bailey many thanks Jennifer happy to help 👍 you do need a whippet for your adventures tho 😀 Hope to see you in the road soooooooon somewhat 👍🍟😀🐾🍺❤️
It’s a great van is yours Dave or should I say Louie 🤣😂🤣. Would love to chat sometime to get ideas for my T6, had a sneaky weekend away with it and stuck a air bed on the floor.
It is Louie’s I just drive it for him 😂 We need to have meet up soon then before it gets too cold for you 👍I’m off to the north of Scotland for a week on Thursday canoeing and canoeing in the rain 😀

One Man and His Whippet Thanks for coming back to me. It’s appreciated! I have the same rack and need to keep loading kayaks, surfski’s or SUPs for work at the same time as converting the inside. Have you done a video on the roof set up? If so I’ll check that out for answers to other Q’s!
Hi there I didn’t do a video about fitting it sorry I did fit it by myself in the driveway it’s not to bad to do 👍 the only challenge I had is fitting the bolts through the roof to hold it on due to already having the inner ceiling fitted 😩 it would be really easy job to do if you didn’t have the ceiling in because this pre-drilled holes in the roof of the bolts to go through hope that helps 👍😀🐾
One Man and His Whippet The fitting was a breeze! It was more about capping the ends of cut bars and whether they were supported from the ‘loose’ ends to the roof, or if you decided to remove the entire width.
No I only needed to cut one and I’ve just removed the middle bit and added some plastic plugs in I do you have a waffle boards across the top which helps to support it if you look at my video about adventure toys shows it in there 👍😀🐾
Hi Chris this is the link to the video about fitting the aerial and in The description to video is the link to the aerial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RJtQmmzlxpc.html Thanks for watching 👍😀🐾🍟🍺
Thanks. Will watch in a min. Finish this one first 😉 I must say your van on this tyres looks impressive. Seen it live at boondockers bash but been too shy to come and say HI to all you famous gang 😉 lol
There you go ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_MaxpxWu2-E.html And welcome to the camper van Community Thanks for watching very best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟

Hi there it’s a standard roof rack from rhino it’s a metal one because I needed to cut it and alter it 👍 if you check out my most recent videos you’ll see I’ve fitted better Solar now and the van’s had a full re-fit too 👍🙏😍
you seem to have it all now dave ????? until ? i have the long wheelbase crafter and yes it can be a pain at times to park but the wife wanted a shower and toilet got to keep the mrs happy ? she does all the cooking
I think a van is only finished when you sell it 😂You always need to keep the mrs happy 👍 thanks again for watching very best regards the two poo pickers and their STD skinny tiger dog 👍❤️😀🐾🍺🍟
Its a lovely van Dave, mine has recently been hit and run, causing some quite bad damage, I'm trying to find out who did it, and hold them responsible, I will be getting the body work repaired whilst in the UK in 10 days time. Photo of damage here www.flickr.com/gp/gsi-r/91ZRY0 Heartbreaking, been quoted €15k locally for the repair.
Oh no that’s a nasty didn’t looks like it was a lorry or something big that hit it Hope you get it sorted soon Thanks for watching Best regards Louie and his two poo pickers 👍❤️😀🐾🍟🍺
