Great video, I could’ve used this before, I have an 2007 EOS and this has happened to me before, but I was able to reverse the process and get in. I just thought that if the C-Locks are locked, the pistons should be forward already and you may be able to get the back glass open and the truck open from the other side as long as their isn’t too much pressure build up in the pump. Using the manual procedure which is finally out on RU-vid.
Great video for the more common situations but unfortunately the left hook on mine is not moveable and is keeping the lid from opening. I know of nothing strong enough to pull it forward as it appears that something failed in the hydraulic system and the cylinder is holding it. Fortunately my inside cover is off but still, I cannot get it open.
Thanks for the great kiwi ingenuity. Interrupted opening of the CSC and wouldn't close so tried to close manually after releasing the hydraulic pressure in the pump. End result was that the sections settled down out of sequence with trunk locked on one side. Key thing for me right now is to figure out how to get the luggage cover off and to the side. Is there a clip on the left side pivot plate that has to be pushed or pulled to release that side, or it is just a friction fit and pushes up and away (reaching in from the back seat ski port)?
Wow. I have subscribed but how do I see your other videos. My boot won't do the last pull down when I close it. Do you have a video for that? Could it be the micro switch on the boot lid catch. Does this hook pull down the boot lid or just the main boot lid catch? I was afraid to touch it but you have given me confidence.
I have a wierd problem with my daughter's EOS - somehow the boot latch has become "locked" while the boot was open, and the black plastic cover surrounding it has vanished. How do I undo the boot latch itself ?
Hey, great info! One question. I'm in the middle of this and I've gotten the top up and locks done but I can't close the boot because the hooks are still closed. How do I get them to close? Also my windows are not working and my door locks. They quit at the same time the top stopped. Any help appreciated.
Thanks but i have another problem, i try to close the convertible and at the end it dont close in both sides 2 clips dont open the back have 2cm open can you make a video please?
Nice video Dave but it s hard for me to understand all ( French ) and i don t find solutions for my EOS: how can you do when the C locks are in and the top in the boot?
Think Iv the same problem roof won’t drop down and the boot won’t open best way I’m going to try is undo the hydraulics to release the pressure then do this
Hi Dave, thanks for the very helpful videos. I have an eos with the convertible stuck in open and boot closed, I got a small person to get into the boot through the back seat, but they could pull the C locks due to the convertible roof being in the way. Does you method still work with the roof folded in the boot?
When the roof is down and stowed in the boot the C locks should be in the open position so you should be able to just use the emergency boot release cable.
I bought a 2009 Eos at auction for cheap. I just got a Ross Tech VCDS and the car spewed about 20 fault codes at me, and now this stupid latch is closed. That's the last straw for me. I'm going to polish this turd, and take it back to the auction to recuperate some of my money. Then I'm going to go buy a reliable Japanese made car like an Infiniti G37 convertible or a Lexus IS-C.
Thanks for the tip Dave. I got an error at the very beginning of taking the roof down in cold weather and since then the claws kept my boot closed. Using the loops as you suggested I was thankfully able to open my boot but I am now unable to close my boot and I imagine the claws are out of sequence? Any heads up and what I should do/ expect next?
Hi, so from what you describe you will need to reset the claws manually before you close the boot again. It’s likely that the C locks that lock the back screen down would have been released so they will need to be locked manually also. There is a very good video on this process done by Top Hydraulics.
@@Kingstoncars1 Huge and grateful thanks for replying. I am googling away. I guess this would be found at the end of their video 'manual close of roof' or contained within another? Today i did keep the rear most hooks in an open position using wire as you describe in your video but the boot will not get down completely to lock. I am guessing the hydraulics, which moved for the very small time of opening before the system crashed, are preventing the boot lid from lowering fully?
@Dave DIY You are a king. I am ill adept at all things cars and it all worked like a dream. To recap for anyone that this might help. A malfunction occurred at the early stages of opening in icy conditions. I had the conv. workshop message and my boot was stuck closed. I opened the claws using wire as featured in Dave's video. Now able to access my boot I could follow the later stages of the manual roof closing explained in this video by Top Hydraulics. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G31I3ZUxIBQ.html). Pushing the rear window joints into correct locked position and pushing the hydraulic rods into place loaded the claws into the normal open position and once I put the boot compartment back in place and closed the door I started the ignition and hey presto! It all came into synch. Error message gone. Roof functioning. Boot locking and opening as normal. Kudos to you guys!
@@GazzaClydeMoore sounds like we had the same problem. I've did everything except the locks behind the window fabric. I thought mine was already locked but I'll go back and check. Hopefully that will open the clamps for the boot.
@@jonathancrump31 Hope it works out for you. I did in the same order as in the tophydraulics video. Initially the joints behind the fabric looked in place to me but once i levered them down a very definite clunk into the correct locked position occurred. Then pushing in the rams in the boot gradually opens the claws. Hope that helps
First of all the cover is usually on because ppl want to open their convertible n second of all some ppl hav stuff in their trunk I for one hav a wheelchair in there so this video is useless I can’t see anything to get to the sides n bump that cover off me magically move that holder to the trunk smh
