VW Golf GTI Clubsport vs Honda Civic Type R 

Neuroguitarist It dosent come close interior quality wise... Iv driven & bought the GTI Clubsport & i can tell, it is nothing like the word "boring" you describe it... They comparable horsepower wise, & if i want i can tune the GTI CS to 360 HP wth the German Oettinger Tune! Thats good enough for me while keeping my German World Class Engineering!!! Also i wana keep it as comfortable as possible so i picked DSG & DCC. Cars built this November! Plus You wont find many cars as refined as the Golf with its 40 Years of Heritage! ;)

3DFX Well, after having owned 4 generations of Golfs (Mk III- MkVI-GTI) and having a lot of reliability-issues with every golf (so did friends of mine) whilst driving on curvy roads or the nordschleife (I live in germany) wasn't as satifying as I hoped (too soft, brakes too weak, steering too unprecise etc.). And after the "new-car-wow-factor" has disappeared, the GTI seemed rather boring, like a Golf with a little bit more power. So, after all, I am not that convinced of "German World Class Engineering". I guess it depends on where you coming from car-wise and what you are used to. The Clubsport certainly is a very good daily-car and the best modern GTI yet! So I wish you all the best with your new car!

Neuroguitarist Everybodys got their own experience / opinion. Iv owned a Golf 6 GT R-Line 2012 for 5 years now & never had a problem so far. + The new car factor is Still There! Course thats brand new when igot it also, like the Clubsport both ordered directly from VW through dealer.

some shots were a bit soft and underexposed. overall pretty good. might i suggest using three cameras for the beginning, one wide shot and two medium of each pair. maybe a tripod would help as well.

C Ars Yes, & lets resume the proudness ;) by reporting: Theres a German Tuner "The Turbo Engineers" which boosts from 290 hp to 470 Horsepowers... Hey for the wheelspin, but who cares if were racing for 2 Litre Power hehe.. ;) Check it out the products named TTE470 & TTE370+. I assume the lighter 370 might be the more normal pick with lesser wheelspin. If someone knows more about this subject please Enlighten Me!

Hey, thanks for the feedback. For South African roads it can be at times very impractical compared to the Clubsport because of the gearbox/clutch. We suffer with bad traffic here and it is not a great car to be in during stop/start traffic. This is one reason. Thanks for watching.

It is not completely unusable, but with the traffic we have in South Africa, the gearbox/clutch can become a bit of a mission after a while. Regarding the VW, Simply because of the DSG box it makes it much better on the road in South Africa. On track though, The Type R wins all day. Remember the Clubsport also have overboost for 10 seconds.

well the prius is electric... the golf gti is a 2.0 litre turbo 4 cylinder. same body style, compact wagon, but they're very different cars.

the think is that i will always love to drive ek9 , ep3 , and fn2 those type of engine will remain in the history as the best NA engines of all time .. for me they are Non-recyclable cars ..

not to mention 30 cents to the dollar for parts and repairs... i owned ONE VW and the cost of repair did not match the car's actual value.

For the same money, you get 4motion AND a LOT more torque and hp. One would have to be high to buy type R OR gti clubsport when golf R is available.

in some ways i really like the type R's looks, but ... there are more than a few reasons why i went with a golf R

there is sense to buy type r only for often track driving. otherwise it is a waste of money, R is a better choice!
