Sounds like my gti mk2 no cat 2/half exhaust raceland headers nice car man love the sound u can hear my shit 10 miles away and it sounds like a v8 love the vdub man
Well I have looked pretty close. I own one. The KR motor you are talking about is the "euro tuned" motor, with more aggressive cams compared to my PL (USA) motor. The cams are sold as upgrades to PL owners. All 16V motors of that era: 1.8L PL,KR, and the 2L 9A you are referring to are all DOHC.
Look closer. I think all 2L engines were equipped with injection, plus that must be the 1.8L "KR" carb engine from a "pre-facelift" GTi. In the vid it clearly shows it's a SOHC.
lovely car, but would have sounded a lot better if you had the standard 16v gti exhaust in my opinion, the exhaust sounds over the carbs and totally ruins it
you are not changing the gears on time you are hittning the limitter (i don't know how it is in english) and the injection is turning off when you do that .. but the car is awsome
Stand still a minute by the looks and you will realize that the shape off golfs isnt nice at all.and the engine type is not make for speed but easy drive
Do you even know what you're talking about? That's a mk2 GTI with the VW 2.0L 16V DOHC engine. Its probably going to sound a little like a car that uses the same exact engine design. VW made it sound like that, not him.
+Adrizz5447 camber is used to correct wheel alignment on corners. you enter a turn your suspension is going to shift. with zero camber whatsoever that is going to make the outside edges of the tires wear faster and will also result in less grip through a corner. while it is very true that obscene amounts of negative camber look like dog sh*t a subtle ammount can do wonders in terms of improved handling for more spirited drivers. because all golf/gti body's types mk1-mk3 use a torsion bar type rear I feel it would be useless explaining the effects lowering a car would play on camber.
avery johnson LOL..... You didn't get the sarcasm did you? I know well beyond what you wrote what camber is and what it's function is. I wanted to hear from the other guy why a "normal" person would do something so stupid as modify their vehicle for the type of camber used in this video. There is no useful purpose for that much camber. Its completely counterproductive!
+Adrizz5447 true. adding negative camber to an otherwise stock setup yields improvement only to a certain extent. though if it were only his fronts with noticeable camber it'd have been possible it was failure to adjust after lowering the vehicle. me personally I'm a fan of negative camber but only to the extent that you can barely see the difference. to others it's simply a stylized fad. I've a rusted ass hood on my mk2, doesn't serve any purpose being that way but it is because it's my care and I wanted it that way
