With a 1.8T 20V (found in the MK4 Golf GTI/Leon Cupra/Audi TT), this car is not refined by any means, but can really shift with some very light modifications. It's very much an underdog when it comes to the 1.8 Turbo Volkswagen Group Cars, but is among the fastest of them because of how light it is!

I have a Mk4 Polo Gti. This cars twin. Mine has a Bjx engine but still the 1.8T and also manual. I love these cars.

Been waiting for a review on this. I just bought another mk4 was a cheap run about. Not a cupra it’s a fr diesel 130bhp already remapped so can be abit of fun. It’s good to be back in one

I was 21 when I got my 2005 mk4 seat ibiza cupra 1.8T! 😅 and 6 years down the line iv still got it to this day! It's been a great car cost me nothing to maintain! was on 56,000 miles when I got it now on 101,000 and still tight as a drum! Stage 1 like yours always said I was going to go stage 2 but never thought it needed it really 🤷‍♂️

@@rh9224 My thoughts, exactly. I mean, a lot of them lack that bit of 'personality' that you get with Skoda or Seat. They almost seem a bit too sensible and no-nonsense for their own good (if that makes sense).

I have been enjoying mine -07 1.8T FR for over two years now. I have remapped it, installed Bilstein coilovers and a rear arb. It's awesome fun for a little money. I had -07 MX5 previously. It was nowhere near as fun as the 6L has been.

The MK4 POLO GTI's Spanish Cousin, the SEAT Ibiza did have soft plastics in higher trim versions just like the VW Polo 9N. And the 'old school SEAT build quality' had nothing to do with rattles, Leons of that age were above average. It is more of the way a second hand car has been treated by the previous owner and the awareness you have that you are buying an aged car.

I swear none knows that this engine is the polo GTi 9n3 engine as it's the ko3s. In the description it says same as TT and Leon they have bigger turbo ko4 and it's shared with the MK3 Ibiza cupra aswell with the ko3s

The BAM engine codes for the 1.8t20v stuff had forged cranks and were built a little stronger but that's about it

Not these specific ones mate. They've got an electronic system that grabs the brake on the slipping wheel to simulate a locking diff but not quite the real thing. Works well though!
