And together, a Tesla with a CCS adaptor has access to both the largest and best charging network: Tesla Superchargers PLUS all the CCS charging locations. Be interesting to see if non Tesla EV owners at CCS chargers know that with video interviews ? Thus Tesla owners exclusively have access to the largest and best Over The Road public charging system. This is why Ford is joining the the Tesla charging network.
I have a leaf and use Ea . I never fiddle with any app. You must watch Kyle Connor. I have my ea pass in my apple wallet I just tap my card in my wallet and my phone on the rfid spot next to card reader. On new machines it says members. And the charger starts. You seem smart enough to do that. I dont open my app or swipe that is so 2018-2020. I am 59 and can do it. Too many RU-vidrs exaggerate the charging . On ev go they have auto charge plus for some ccs cars. Even the 2017 bolt can plug in and it starts charging like a supercharger. Chargepoint I also have my card in my wallet on my phone it can be tap and charge. I also have the rfid on my key ring and it doesn’t wear me out to tap it either. Non Teslas using the magic dock need to mess with the Tesla app.
I’ve started doing tap to pay as well. Reliability remains an issue with ea, but it’s definitely getting better. The supercharger experience has definitely spoiled me I guess. Everything else just seems outdated.
I brought an ID. 4 in upstate NY and stopped at Wawa on the way back to the DC area at 1:45 a.m. the Wawa, unlike most others is not open 24 hours. There were no other cars charging it either Tesla or Electrify America. I plugged in and rested in my car until I was awoken by a homeless person banging on my window. In order to unplug I had to give him $5 even after I slipped him a 5-2 the crack in the window he still insisted on getting more until he finally gave up and walked away always tell everyone that my "free" charging electrify America on my first trip cost me $5 I would not recommend charging at that place after hours
Yikes. Unfortunately a lot of these chargers are in kind of sketchy locations. You really have to be aware of your surroundings when charging at night.
It’s close. She considers the Tesla to be a better overall car and with wayyyy better software, but she says the VW is more comfortable. It sits up higher and has a much smoother ride, which she really likes.
