Dude thank you for making this and your other videos. You are very clear and easy to understand and this video is so much higher quality and better instructions than any “how to” video on these cars I’ve seen in 6.5 years of owning a mk6 Jetta. Please please PLEASE keep making videos like this you have no idea how much they are appreciated!

I appreciate that! As I get more parts or basic maintenance things pop up I’ll keep the videos coming!

I was curious and called a shop and they quoted me $900 with an alignment…. As long as all your bolts come off with relative ease it’s a pretty straightforward process.

if you don’t mind mind asking, do you happen to know what size the strut mount bolts are? i’m trying to get them at a local autozone or something but idk what size the thread is

I have the same lowering springs on my car as well. They ride super smooth. I wish they were just slightly lower, still way too much gap for my taste but none the less, looks much better than stock.. the stock ride height is like a monster truck. 225/40/18 is what I’m on and it looks decent !

Thanks for sharing and the instructions were really clear. I was wondering if everything in this video would be similar to the mk6 Jetta 2.5?

If you car has a solid beam rear suspension then you can use the exact same springs he uses

Great video bro, looking to get the H&R springs soon and install myself but I don’t have the compression clamps, are they a necessity or is there a way around it? If anyone has advise please get back to me !

Did you know that you didn’t have to release the hub from the car one screw behind the strut release the strut from the hub makes your hole life easy don’t have to take off hub our axle that can stay in the car this guy did the long way how you throw off alignment on the car in the front it’s only sway bar nut three screws on top one screw holding the hub that’s it

Looks great I’m ordering a set for my car does it ride ok ?

Ride quality is perfect for me. Stiff but not uncomfortable for a daily driver. Height is also perfect for a daily. Honestly wish I did this the first day I bought the car.

I've been wanting to do this to my 17 Jetta for a while, but wasn't able to decide between the lowering springs and just going for coilovers
@TimVChannel
@TimVChannel Год назад
I’m very happy with just springs. Coilovers are nice for adjustability but if I had to do it all over I would stick with just springs.

Can you give me a list of all the tools I’ll need for this job? I just got h and r springs today and am looking to do the job myself. Would it be cheaper to buy the equipment and do it myself or go to a shop?
@TimVChannel
@TimVChannel Год назад
Sorry I don't have a full list of every tool you'll need but if you watch the video and make a note of everything you don't already have that would be the next best option. For spring install and alignment you are probably looking at $600-$1000 depending on your area. So doing it yourself will be way cheaper even after buying the tools.

@@TimVChannelno problem . Thanks for responding. I was quoted 1000$ for install + alignment from one shop which is crazy expensive for a 5 hr job.

if you can please get back to me lol. no need to change the bump stops to be shorter since your lowering and how does it feel? i drive a passat rline and im going h&r sport but im changing my mount and think im getting short bump stops from the golf ?
@TimVChannel
@TimVChannel 8 месяцев назад
Zero issues with stock bump stops and going on a few years with them now. The sport springs aren’t really that aggressive of a drop compared to super sport ones so that’s probably why I haven’t had any issues. As far as feel goes it’s exactly what I was looking for. Stiff with drastically improved handling but not rock hard or uncomfortable for daily driving or road trips.

You should not install lowering springs with oem shocks. They will wear your shocks prematurely. Save a few more bucs and install proper coilovers.
@TimVChannel
@TimVChannel Год назад
Already got over 70k on this car… protecting the oem shocks wasn’t really a concern when choosing lowering springs. Whenever they wear out I’ll be going to coilovers for the multiple adjustments they offer.
@alvinnazario3987
@alvinnazario3987 Год назад
They aren’t low enough to replace the shocks
@Youngsparky95
@Youngsparky95 Год назад
You don’t need to replace shocks with h and r sport springs dummy. It only offers an average 1.5 inch drop.Only when springs offer a 2 inch drop or higher should that be a concern

@@Youngsparky95is this really tru? I only want my car to go like 1-1.5 inches lower and I never want to change it but I also want to keep the comfortility. Should I get these or invest in coilovers. People keep telling me coilovers.
