Thank you, thank you, thank you. My trunk has been inoperable for a few YEARS. I watched this video and recognizing the trunk was engaging due to the whir sound. I went right to your website and ordered the trunk fix. My son installed the piece in less than 10 minutes. The trunk opens flawlessly now. I had put off having a shop or dealership fix it because I knew the cost would be outrageous. The two year wait before finding this video and your solution was soooooo worth it. Thank again, tremendously. 🥰
My compliments to your kit. I installed it yesterday on my son's 2001 Jetta and it worked exactly as you describe. Also, my compliments to your business plan and ability to pull this off. Now it's time for you to help me with fixing the engine hood safety latch on the same car, ha ha. When I finally get it open I'll do a video of how that thing works, and fails.
I don't know if someone mentioned before. The trunk does open with the key, when you actuate the lever manually with the key. (that is if you dont want to crawl in through the seats) I just purchased the kit. Thanks you guys.
Same problem happened with my 2000 Jetta after 18 years. Cheap plastic part finally gave way. I’ve seen dozens of other Jetta owners complaining about the same, and looking for a fix. VW should have made that part with a cheap piece of metal. Will buy your permanent fix and cross your fingers!
@sonor3809 Our website is back up thanks for notifying us we were unaware it was down. We have corrected the site and its back up and going. Sorry for any delay.

I've done an independent video review of your product, and I published it today here on RU-vid. You're going to be happy with what I said. I'm sending it to you as a video response, and I thought you may want to approve linking the two videos. Cheers.

I have a 98 jetta gl k2 model, my trunk latch is broken too, but also when I lock the doors a loud humming/buzzing sound (similar sound to the regulator for the trunk that is going wild) appears in the left side of the trunk area and stays on for 30 seconds. Anyone have a clue what that could be?
@target4fun Hi there I have this problem and I've tried to go to you website but it is not working. Is it down for good or is this just temporary? thanks for the help.
Thank you SO much for your videos. First you helped me get my trunk open, I was able to use my key to open but one day it became jammed and the key wouldn't work. After watching your video I crawled into the trunk, took the cover off and then by pushing one part it opened. I then ordered your Trunk Fix and it took me 2 minutes and I was done and yeah! it works again!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! (you should your website address in your description for others) JETTATRUNK . COM
What if the key doesn't even turn the trunk lock (it doesn't even get into the hole all the way) AND I can't pull anything from behind the folded seats. Urgh.
What about the safet release handle on the trunk lid? You did not mention anything about how to remove that you just aid remove all 13 fuzzy screws and the cover will come right of WRONG.
See video follow along and see if the mechanism is exactly the same in other countries they have other models/names and still use this design. I dont have access to your car but made the video so you can see if its the same. Please share results if it is or isnt for others.
Do you still sell the parts? How much? I'm asking because it says this was posted 9 years ago. I didn't take mine apart yet but, the symptoms are exactly the same. Thanks in advance for a response.
