Hi David - yes the LED ring can be used as side and brake - just use the brake light circuit to run it. I am working on a Version 3 inner lens that should match the outers better than my existing method so hold off cutting your inners for a little while. Hi really helpful vids, this might be a silly question the inner side light ring can that be used as the brake light ring as well? Do I just wire in a separate supply from the existing brake light loom? I have already done the side light mod, just need to get another set of r32 lights to cut the back off like you have done. Don't understand what you mean by 2006? I do already have the shark fin on it - I'm lucky to have the rns510 DAB so have fitted the Polo shark fin base and bee sting combo for OEM DAB aerial solution
MateyGuv Hi there. I have a Golf V and for some reason my 3rd brake light has stopped working. Could you do a DIY on removing/replacing the 3rd high brake light?
Sorry for late reply. Mine is working fine so no need for me to take it out. If you look on mk5Golfgti prim there is a great guide but you'll need to search for it. Officially you need to take the spoiler off to change them!!! The guide on the forum shows a way to not have to do that

i got an idea.... im going to try to wrap the lights in a red color and see how it pans out. This is more of a pain in the ass. If its a deep enough red, the color of amber or white wont show through
yeah looked marvelous when i smoked my 2g eclipse back in the day but only the sides not the center piece and i took off the lettering too, whole thing looked a tad smoked and just enough light showed through that it didnt change up the look anyway, it worked out well. A dark enough tint of red i really think will work out well here. Plus its a red gti so it will look even better as red mk5 gti's and maybe the white are the only colors i think look best with stock tail lights. Others im not much of a fan of. @@MateyGuv
yeah ill try usually i dont film and post stuff but maybe i will for that. turn signals wont be colored and reverse i think may become pinkish or light red, however it will all look more uniform and nice aesthetically i think. @@MateyGuv
Mike's World I installed LED bulbs in the car. The blinking when ignition is turned on is the car testing that the bulbs are all working. Because LED’s light up a lot quicker than filament bulbs the LEDs will flicker. This can be coded out using VAGCOM though. If you want this effect on your car just replace all the rear bulbs with good quality LED bulbs 👍
